Just as an aside the Fed's have approved the GC airport future masterplan, including funding the new runway equipment needed so that aircraft can land in the bad weather, not that the GC has much bad weather really, it also sets up the airport and associated transport/airport precinct up for the comm games in 2018.

Just in time for weather patterns to change and another 5 years of drought where rain is a blessing

Conspiracy theorists will now be arguing about when the second Virgin Australia lounge on the Gold Coast will be opening, and who will be allowed to enter within.


Maybe invite+ will be squeezed in as well..so second lounge technically!

It's not known for sure as far as I can tell, but the AusBT article says going on past events that this may be the case.
