Well its a good day for me tomorrow new lounge second visit and then new A330 from Syd to Perth

My first OOL lounge visit is locked in for 23 June, will be on the ground for 45 minutes, I'll try not to take advantage.

What's the last departure on DJ from OOL Friday nights?

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Actually, did it seem to be overstaffed this weekend? Perhaps part of the opening process? There just seemed to be a ton of staff about!

It felt like that all last week, I was there twice and both times there were plenty of staff (albeit close to closing time) and they were super friendly, attentive and very pleasant.

still happening this week. was there on friday, so many staff, and all behaved exactly as TG puts it ... so refreshing, the cynic in me wonders how long it takes before everyone is jaded

this OOL lounge and the new J product (that isn't always full like QF) really is a threat to my ex BNE QF travel

I expect the usage will increase as more of the GC based status pax who have been flying out of BNE due to the lack of facilities at OOL start booking and flying ex OOL more.

Had my first visit. Quite nice going up the two flights of stairs, and certainly better than sitting out inthe food court style airport that is OOL.

Nice chci pea and corn chips with sour cream was very god, washed down with a few glasses of my favourite white.

Good job dj, makes my travel preference to OOL a lot more enjoyable.

I'm flying into OOL tomorrow morning for a week back on the Gold Coast, so will stop by and check out the lounge.

Hi all,

I'll be flying down to Sydney tomorrow on DJ540 at 18:05. If anyone is at the airport around this time and happy to guest me into the lounge then please let me know. I'll be at the airport around 17:00. Thanks!

I'm sitting in the OOL Lounge now, after a cancelled flight I'm going to MEL via SYD. No complaints from me however.

The lounge is fantastic, it's quite at the moment and the staff are providing table service and as an Aviation Geek I'm loving the view.

Love your work Virgin!

Missed you by ten hours.

You may notice that the toaster is the extra strong industrial model :D

Had the opportunity to have a peek at the Lounge yesterday before my 5pm to Sydney. Whilst I'm not a member, the lovely rep behind the desk was more than happy to give me a bit of a tour (and especially perked up after I mentioned this forum). Must say, was quite an nice Lounge that seemed to be quite full at the time - at least 2 dozen of the 144 on my flight came from the Lounge to use priority boarding. And I really did like the views of the tarmac and runway.

Well, I can honestly say the OOL lounge beats the SYD lounge all ahnds down today.
OOL - everything a goer....warm welcome, coffee brought to my table, full selection for breakie including those petite little muffins, the shot glasses of yogurt/muselli thingys, hot and fresh pancakes (well, pikelets) and most importantly.......the "you cannot break me" toastie maker! Unfortunately, the plane was very rudely on time and I had to board before I was finished, so I thought I'd nip into SYD to finish breakfast.
SYD - Not so warm welcome (but still very pleasant), basically nothing much out.....the toastie machine was no where in sight, no yogurt/muselli thingys, the pancake warmer empty and the lounge was far from empty. I watched for a while (having a coffee) and despite a number of staff noticing the empty trays, no attempt was made to top them up.

Poor effort SYD.....wonderful turn-out OOL!

I must admit I enjoyed a small breakfast last Thursday. Unfortunately there is a downside, I have noticed a small increase in my parking costs as I arrive earlier to use the lounge

Oh well....one has to make sacrifices every now and then
