currently I enjoy the offering from the lounge,ive managed to get flights at lunchtime and the offering is adequate.The number of pax in there was comfortable also.Staff friendly and helpful.
Have booked my next entry.

Along with others I noticed some work above Hungary Jacks, so I emailed the airport and queried the work.

I received this reply today.

Thank you for your email and interest in the airport.

We will be commencing works on a new airline lounge in the coming weeks around that area, but work has not yet commenced.

This is internal fitout work. As a matter of course we engage with affected stakeholders, but there is no requirement for a building application on our website.

Interesting development, hopefully we’ll get an idea of the size and shape of the lounge soon enough. Or maybe even a sneak preview from someone :p

We already know the size and capacity at 140 guests, so its going to be close to BNE in size at 680 SQM.

Maybe the three of us can chip in for some purple rope and a VA Plat/Gold only sign and rope off a little corner of the airport just for us. Maybe a few chairs, utilise the free wifi in the terminal and we have our own little lounge.

How long before VA notice the Purple rope and signs aren't official? :rolleyes:

I think VA would think it's bloody hilarious :lol: Why don't we all just buy a roll of some purple rope and a sign that we can put up at any airport that doesn't have a VA lounge? VA could effectively say they have a lounge in every airport in the world!

I am flying tomorrow from OOL happy to put in for the rope.

Where should I section off as there was construction near gate 6 last time i was there or should I just make an area around Hungry Jacks and be done with it.
 
I am flying tomorrow night so I will check your work. Shall we run out our own priority queue as well. I will bring the video camera to catch the looks on the VA staff's faces.

Maybe we could request VA to provide vouchers to be handed out at priority check-in so our little makeshift lounge feels a bit more like the real thing. :)

How about around the corner near Gate one? We could have that whole area of seating to ourselves!! It'll be quiet, private and isn't really in view of the main terminal.

Considering Jetstar mainly use that terminal the staff probably wouldn't even care about it.
