thanks for the info everyone. I'm keen on buying some vouchers too.

Can anyone who has received the bonus points confirm if they used a Qantas Amex (instead of the rewards maximiser one). I wanted to make sure this was eligible.
I believe that the promotion is for Membership Rewards points, which the Qantas branded cards do not earn - they are transferred directly to your QFF account.

Any non-QF branded card for which you are enrolled in the MR program would earn Membership Rewards points.

Not all Qantas Branded Amex card have points that go directly to QFF.

I have an Amex Qantas Business card which puts MR points to their Spirit program. I can transfer points to QF, HH, SPG etc.

Mind you I don't think Amex are offering this any more. I binned a "free" offer to move to the Qantas Platinum Credit Card a few weeks ago and I can't find it on the AX web site.

Amex still offer qantas branded corporate amex cards as we use them at work and as Serfty mentioned they are linked to the Spirits program.

OOI, I queried Amex one day on what benefits we get with qantas - apparently nothing  a bit bizarre.....

anyhoo, im just about to head up the road to ****ies to grab some vouchers

edit: ooh! didnt realise this site had content filtering! ;)

I recently obtained a Qantas branded corporate AMEX card. They are offering 2% rebate on the cost of QF airfares charged to the card. Maximum rebate is 5% depending on total QF spend.

All of our flights are now being charged to this card. As it is in my name, guess who gets all the points  although this is not really a large # anyway.

thanks for the speedy responses everyone. Guess I will have to miss out on this promotion :(

Happy spending for those of you who can benefit from the offer!

that sounds more plausible - i should have learnt by now that the Amex call centre really doesnt know ****!

:D...just had to test the content filtering again!

awesome - thanks for the link Shano

that will make a great case to change the process to allow flights to be charged to individual's credit cards instead of the corporate travel account!!!

and more importantly more points for the punters! :D

This also offers a 2% rebate on Flexible WHY booking classes and higher for annual expenditure over $10K. Interestingly, +++ payments on Award bookings are eligible.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I missed out on 60K+ of points by having to charge my flights to my Oz CEO's credit card - when she left and my US boss realised what was going on he insisted that I start charging to my corporate Amex (non-QF branded).

Don't Forget VS Flying Club as a redemption possibility

Flying club has some pretty reasonable redemption rates especially given the 1:1 Amex to FC redemption rate (even better if the 20% bonus offer was made again, but that didn't happen in 2007, unlike 2005 & 2006)

For example a business return from Australia to NZ is 30,000 points.
Australia to LA on NZ in business is 125,000 points.

You can redeem through MH and SQ as well, also DL and SAS. Virgin Blue are coming on board as well.

Just more possibilities for your Amex points.

Actually, the 20% offer did happen in March this year.

I was given purchasing approval for $2K of wish cards this evening :)

D'oh!! I must have missed it when I was in Rome during March.

Hmm - out of interest there is no catch that the purchase of a gift voucher would be treated as a cash withdrawal is there?

I can't see how, lots of people buy vouchers as Christmas presents. A few months ago I bought David Jones vouchers/cards (same type of thing) and they weren't treated as cash withdrawals. So something would have had to changed since then.
