I've bought 2 x $500 Wish cards at DSmith and both posted with the bonus points :D

One card is for me and the other is for my wife to use for our groceries and fuel. I was going to get supplementary Amex RewardsMax for my wife, but they wouldn't waive the supplementary fee. So this Wish card will sort of work as supplementary card in a way (even better!)

Well, they've successfully converted us from Coles/Coles Express/Target to Woolies/Caltex Woolies/Big W.

May be this is part of the plot from Woolies to take market share further from Coles Group?

If you have, for example, a $200 wish card and only use $105 on a specific purchase, how do they then account for the other $95 :?:

straitman, it is just like a pre-paid cash card - you just use it for purchases of any amount until the balance is $0. The card keeps a track of your remaining balance. So if you have $95 remaining, you can simply use it for other purchases at participating stores (eg. Big W, Woolworths, Dan Murphys, DSE). Cards have a 12 month validity from date of purchase.

Thanks creeno.

Does it also work this way if you use a printed voucher :?:

The eftpos machine should show you the remaining value on the card and that should also be printed on your docket/receipt.

I think that the balances are stored centrally and the card provides a way of accessing that balance. I don't think the card itself has a concept of your balances, transactions etc, but these can be looked up online.

Correct! 10 points

just a thought,

if i refund an item? would Amex realise that the reversal of the credit charge mean they would have to deduct the mr bonus points as well as the standard points?

eg. I have bought $600 worth of Wish cards (3 x $200ea) and an Ipod Nano 8bg $279 in the one transaction, being a total of $879.00.... I received 10109 mr points.

If I return the Ipod, am i hoping that Amex only deducts 279 pts rather than 3209 points! so a net savings of 2930 mr points for nothing.......

On my on-line account if you look at your detailed points record I see that each and every transaction is recorded with points in detail including the type of points..

They show points at 1 per $, the bonus in this case at 0.5 and then the extra 10 and the the total..

The split up of the bonus points is also shown if you cluck on the icon (ie box with + sign in it)at left which expands the break down.

- Amplify Bonus Points05,600

As this is all clearly recorded I would imagine that any revesal would easily be reversed by them.

ie any returns wiill also see points deducted at whatever rate they were awarded.

purchased $500 wishcard yesterday @ 2pm and the bonus points posted overnight  great turn around!

btw, I used the Amex Qantas Corp card which isn't linked to a cash withdrawal function!
So does that mean that even though you're enrolled in the Spirit Membership Rewards programme, you were still eligible to receive the bonus points?!

Just found out D1ck Smith Powerhouse is having a 10% off staff discount day either tonight or tomorrow, depending on which state you're in.

I just checked with Springwood QLD Powerhouse, and they're giving a 10% off staff discount tomorrow. I'm pretty sure you need to present the card for the discount though.

Does anyone here in Brisbane have a friend / family member who is a Woolies Group employee?

Can you do this with the Qantas Amex cards, and when does the deal run out?

Was that through Wish Cards or other purchases?

$5k on Wish Cards and the balance on other purchases.....

I've managed to off-load a few Wish cards to family members who have then reimbursed me in full :)

Good work :) I am aiming for $4K of cards ($2K so far) and $4K on purchases (if the TV approval is not withdrawn)

Sony Central advertised in the weekend Sunday Herald their full HD LCD tv specials. The W series full HD in 130cm is $4999 or 116cm is $3399 which is fantastic deal...... and I am thinking to go to Bing Lee or Good Guys to match that price, so then I can get the bonus points......

SonyCentral Chatswood - As Advertised

thats close to 57,000 points =)

purchase a matching Blue Ray drive or Playstation3, and that another 7-8k points!

hmmm i'm wondering if it's worth signing up for a MR Amex before the end of this promotion (are there any fee free offers floating around that anyone knows about?)

Can anyone advise if this would happen in time if I applied in the next day or so? Also can MR points be transferred to Qantas?
