Looks like it's gone now.

Optus emailed me today to say they're changing my plan to remove all included roaming data, starting in May.

Looking for alternatives ASAP, I fly to the US/Canada for month in about 2 weeks.
Nothing here - yet but not looking good. As per my comment in the other thread, I'll weigh up just using an eSim for roaming data and Optus for local/international calling (assuming we all get the same offer for the free roaming call/txt bundle - which was also calls from Oz to OS (Zone 1) as well as calls/txt while overseas.

What was the date in may you were given @transpactraveller ? Still no word on my end, but current month expires in the next few days, wonder if there'll be something on the next bill.

4 May for mine as well.

The email I got is quite insulting, pretending it's an upgrade, thanking me for my loyalty, and saying this new plan I'm being forced on to is better value than the current one I'm on, which is obviously completely untrue. Then in small print down the bottom it says we're removing your $10/month discount, bonus data, free streaming and international roaming inclusions.

You’re still getting $10 off the $50 plan? !!!

I just missed out on the $40 period but SYD+1 was lucky. Neither of us have received the downgrade email - yet.

Almost! My bill randomly changed to $42.50 about a year ago with no explanation, but I never bothered asking Optus about it.

Hope they're not downgrading my plan because of the discount? I'd happily pay more to stay on it - even $80 a month would still work out better than the new plan they're forcing on me.

I do at least 4 overseas trips a year, out of the country for 90+ days. This plan was perfect for me, but nothing like it seems to exist anymore.

I'm waiting to see what the new Amaysim roaming option is that's being released 4 April before I choose what's next, but I'm definitely picking something that's not Optus because I'm just really annoyed with them about this now!
Oh I haven't heard about this... Thanks for the heads up!

Looks like Optus still has a $79 which includes roaming:
Restricted to new services only, you need to get a new number if you're already with Optus!!! Do you think they'd make an exception for us because this is now the closest new plan they offer to the plan they're kicking us off?

Though I'm honestly wanting to leave Optus forever now, and will most likely port to Felix and use this:

already posted elsewhere :)
Amaysim international roaming packs are available from next week (e.g. 365-day | 5GB | 90+ destinations | $50)

I imagine porting in and out would be feasible
