Hooooooowllll...
Another thing learnt, Lovestotravel.
Didnt see that one.
Edit: Yes, Medhead, looks like thats the way to go then, back to Woolworths and Coles again.
Thanks too, Tripping... I do have an EDR card too.

Totally agree with you even in Metro Melbourne! :(

+1 that agrees with this sentiment that Optus coverage in Melbourne is below par.

The Optus customer retention team will have their work cut for them in the next18 months when customers contracts expire & people vote with their feet & jump ship over to their competitors.

My case actually ended up in the TIO.. and I m about to leave soon..

Post paid here, with some on contract and some off. Business account, received email and bonus point offer.

I am somewhat amused by those who think that Optus, Telstra it Vodaphone can be compared just as a whole entity. Something like mobile broadband has so many variables, that the same carrier will deliver vastly different experiences to different people.

Even after you get over the obvious coverage / geographic differences, the one physical network has a plethora of virtual services, all with different priorities and speeds. Just because Vodaphone or any of the virtual providers is on a particular carriers network doesn't make the likely experience comparable. Different APN will get different priority, speed and response.

Even within the same carrier, pre-paid, post-paid and business plans may be on different virtual networks, with vastly different priorities.

Actually I am now finding Vodafone is quite OK.In Geraldton for some reason it worked a lot better than Telstra.I have since used it in Burnie and now Broken hill without a problem.Much easier to manage than Telstra.
Don't come to Gippsland then :!:

Just received my email about the partnership end - i'm on mobile contract. Shame Optus has the best coverage around here :(

Looks like I'll get a bonus 1K points and give me the opportunity to finally check out Telstra mobile plans post 1/7/15 (better signal access at home). I'm on an Optus plan but I think close enough to exit. Simo, you'll be getting a call :D

This makes my decision-making much easier. I signed up with Optus specifically for the QFF points, had an awful experience, complained about a million times, with no love from Optus. Considered taking it to the TIO, but was too exhausted with the entire thing by that point. My 24-month contract is up in August. Perfect timing.

God damn it.

I've spent many phone calls to try and get Optus Rewards connected to my QFF and finally did it last week...and now they're partnership is ending.

I am similar to you.. but did not sign up for the points and I DID take my case to the TIO.. very poor coverage in metro Melbourne and will finish in July (but TIO has forced optus to let me go early, thus I am still with them, but can go at anytime)..

I was with Optus long before the QFF tie-up, and all my contracts have expired now (TV, Landline, Cable Internet and a 3G Data dongle for my laptop) so I can go where/when I like. They are offering 3K bonus points to stay to the bitter end (July), and I will be watching to see if there are any real alternatives in terms of delivering points after that.

I use Optus prepaid as an emergency backup SIM (their $2 Days plan is *really* good as a fallback internet connection when you have ADSL problems, as I've discovered). Got the 500 points offer, which I think is perfectly reasonable given it's probably 5 times as many points as I've actually earned through Optus already. Given I don't use it as my primary phone service I don't really have any issues with this.

I am out of contract on a ~$70/month ADSL & home phone bundle, and got offered 500 points...

How come I got an offer of 3000?
1 Optus prepaid mobile phone number, 1 Virgin prepaid mobile phone number masquerading as Optus, and an Optus prepaid mobile broadband Sim.
That equals 3000?
What's Mrs O's Optus services?
Edit: Lets presuppose:
1 service-500
2 services-1000/1500
3 services-3000
Also, my 2 mobiles phone sets are locked to Optus, so if I wanted to port, ***come to think of it, I would need the phone "unlocked" meaning having to pay $.***

Daughter will be 11 of 24 months into an iP6 contract when this finishes - the email indicated 3000 bonus by end of July¹.

¹~Bonus Qantas Points for Qantas Frequent Flyer members who receive an email communication indicating that they will receive bonus Qantas Points will be automatically credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account by 31 July 2015 - so long as the Optus account and service that's earning Qantas Points is still active

I have not got the letter or offer.

Who sends it optus (one email) or QF (another email)

Wonder what my offer will be. contract expires around July.

Very keen to look around - only said the other day "why would I swap - service is okay and I get FF pts!"

Agree the bonus offer is likely based on the number of services. I have Optus broadband/phone bundle and TV - emails received from both:

Qantas: "You will continue to earn points on payments made up to and including 30 June 2015, and in addition, you will receive 3000 bonus points~ from Optus. Your bonus points will be applied to your account by the end of July."

Optus
:
"June is the last month of the partnership, and when it ends we’ll be giving 3000 bonus points to QFF number xx_xx_x. They’ll be added automatically at the end of July, 2015 - as long as the Optus account and service that’s earning your Qantas Points is still active".
