And that is precisely the problem with abbott. He tells us nothing but 3 word catchphrases and leaves us to guess. The Howard government is a good indicator of what Abbott might do. There is also the fact that everyone, including the ALP, is telling us that taxes must increase and spending cut. To achieve his policy of "having a surplus", he must do those things. But then there is the dichotomy in abbott of also increasing and supporting middle and upper class welfare. At least the ALP has a track record. A track record of trying to balance the needs of those at the bottom and cutting unaffordable and wasteful middle class welfare. Have a big whinge about lossing you PHI rebate, but sad for you that is precisely what is required in the current economic environment. The fact that the LNP voters are howling so loudly about it does not mean it is wrong.

As I've said I have no team, unlike many here, I'm commenting about what we'll get following this election and comparing to what we're being sold. Perhaps you need to stop projecting your blind support of Abbott onto anyone who dares to mention his faults. The very fact that you cannot acknowledge his massive failings in the problem here.

Labor‘s welfare state mentality is about encouraging dysgenic reproduction patterns and ingraining a culture of mediocrity while punishing people with ambition and the talent to succeed. I want to be part of a country where people are congratulated for being successful and optimistic. That's why I look forward to the demise of the corrupt scumbags of the ALP.

"Nothing but three-word catchphrases." Now where did that soundbite come from, I wonder?

As for "blind support", you must be listening to me about as well as you listen to Tony Abbott. I know very well that I've been highly critical of him in this very forum, and that he has cheerfully gone into detail about his position on many things. Perhaps when one's views are gained from soundbites in a hurried life, one may miss both.

Tony Abbott isn't my preferred PM. Kim Beazley is. I've made that clear enough here, I think.

And I've laid out my problems with Rudd. The chief one being that he is not a team player in a profession that demands it. His disloyalty and treachery to his leader and party last election, and in the years since, is proof enough.

I think the only time he has ever said "Sorry" is for something in which he had no personal involvement. I don't want a psychopath running the federal government. Does anyone, really?

Indeed. That's why they have some of the lowest taxes in Australian and recently changed welfare for single parents for the worse.

As usual reality is completely at odds with the conservative worldview.

Given that there's maybe a dozen people reading this, what's your point?
Why is it whenever someone posts something you disagree with, you waffle on about democracy as if that person has suggested only their opinion matters ?

The alp didn't introduce the baby bonus. People who are successful and have the drive to "work hard" do not need government welfare.

Exactly.

And yet you still attack me for criticising Abbott. For all my hatred of Rudd and his ego, Abbott has not (yet) demonstrated himself to be a viable alternative. It also ironic that the alp is accused of instability because of the games the Rudd's ego has been playing. I'm pretty sure that they'd still be called unstable even if Rudd did nothing.

Beazley was too nice to ever be PM.

Beazley has that back stabber Rudd as his temporary boss. Such a shame he stood in front of a tax cut to allow Rudd to get him with the "Wilshire Stay Sharp political knife".

You're funny, and I bet you vote too.

You should get one of those stickers that say "I'm Isochronous and I vote."

That would be really funny!!!

Any chance of an English translation?

In politics Kevin knifed Kim to get the top Labor job. Kim had not ok'd a tax cut when the sharp knife in the back struck. This is quite normal in getting to the top in politics.
The funny thing was that Kim got the job in the US .
You may not realize it but Kevin Rudd was offside with the Chinese and the Americans both at the same time.

And the Australians as well. It was only when Gillard became as popular as a chook in a worm farm that Rudd looked good to the ALP.

Why does one side alway "knife" their colleagues in the back and not the other side? Could it actually be that Kim had made a few clangers that put him offside with the public and his party, and in a democratic vote he was soundly beaten by Kevin? Doesn't sound quite so dramatic, I give you, but it is also not nearly as moronic.

Why is it funny that Kim subsequently got the US ambassador job? He was keen to get it and did a good job by all accounts, so I don't understand your inference.

Licking the rectum of Uncle Sam was never a good look, and being offside with the US and China is perfectly understandable at times. How would you describe the relationships at the moment?

Yes we still wonder who was advising Kim Beazley at the time of the tax clanger.
I believe he is enjoying being an ambassador and he seems to be going well.
He must be wondering about the Labor Party disintegrating.
The first NBN over run is 5 billion but it is off course as well.

The papers are riddled with stories on how the Rudd caravan is losing wheels. They've even appointed some poor cough to ride on the bus with him so HQ has some control over him........:lol::lol:

There is only one Australian in Britain who cares about the election and that is Juilian Assange.

Beattie is polling poorly, Labor is behind in crucial marginals. Three weeks to go and Rudd's not making any forward momentum, he's sinking back.

Sinking back into his old ways. Better line up someone in Griffith for the inevitable by-election. The Lib candidate there will have a good chance of winning the seat once Rudd spits the dummy.

Hate to blow your scene but this bloke is an alleged ravisher and until he faces his accusers - he is pure scum!

Unless the USA bows out of the indecency charges that arise in another country then why should Assange move?
