Oh yes.... I remember now....

After 10 or so champagnes last week, I took a stroll up the stairs, through business and premium economy, down the spiral staircase, to the horror of cramped seating and odd sounds.

I did not like it one bit!! TBH... I am at a total loss as to how one could endure those conditions for a 13 hour flight. :(:)

I've recently reminded myself of this exact same problem!!

Although 80A/K did seem a quite acceptable method to ensure the aft, if no other class option.....

Ahh .... Precious :p:p

I did think her segment got a little old very quickly though. Aside from that, was a good laugh and nice to finally be in a country where you can watch it on TV as it happens rather than having to source via alternative means

It did get a little old on that one yeah, and the photographers as well.

Not enough of the flying couple though. They had great potential (Simon and Jacquie)

Anyway, back to arguing about other things ;)

(and I watch it on my TV ;))

I see this got a mention in the latest statement:

Update to Platinum Domestic Lounge access
You can still access our Domestic Lounges upon arrival when you have travelled on the same day on any flight that shows a Qantas, Jetstar or oneworld flight number on your ticket.

Got the same thing. It's a shame they reneged on the Domestic and International 'arrivals access' as originally announced by Red Roo. They're now being very particular about things as a result..

I really don't know these things. But does the reference to Jetstar mean that 3K (or whatever are the other Jetstar airline variants) is not included?
Oh perhaps they are excluded anyway due to be domestic?

Edit: pointless question from me. Just read the other thread that shows the words to be Jetstar Airline and then the ^ conditions defines the range of jetstar airlines.

For lounge access it is defined as:
+ Jetstar Airlines refers to Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Aisa (sic) (3K) and Valuair (VF).

Question If I am a Platinum Frequent Flyer am I able to use The Qantas Club or International Business Lounge on arrival (if available)?

Answer Yes. As long as you have a boarding pass for a flight that day or have travelled that day with a Qantas, Jetstar Airline (JQ, 3K or VF) or a oneworld® alliance flight number you may access the lounge.

This is what I found today on Qantas website.

Just arrived MEL J Lounge. Flashed WP card at QP door - no scan and no boarding pass requested.

Print. PRINT. Obviously they haven't updated every aspect of their website yet. In fact, I reckon there's a reasonable chance it will stay unchanged for awhile.

Until Red Roo sees it and makes sure and gets it "fixed"

I've just checked in at PER for a flight to the east. I showed my Platinum card to the lounge agent and the response was "All checked in?" to which I said "Yes, thank you." Admittedly, I was carrying a jacket and a garment bag and pulling my rollaboard, but no scan nonetheless.

Until Red Roo sees it and makes sure and gets it "fixed"

Already printed. Yay!

Why is it 'Red Roo' anyway? Last time I looked the Roo on the tail was white.

Bit like that trick question people ask "what do cows drink"? How many people answer with milk?

Same same in Brisbane yesterday.

Already printed. Yay!
Not going to do you any good if the website is updated before you get a chance to use it.

Anyway even if one part of the website is not updated they can still refuse to let you in on the day according to the new terms and conditions. You can the protest to Qantas all you like.

Personally I am still going to try to get in to the Qantas International Lounges even if I am not flying Qantas on the day. I will ask very nicely and the worse thing they can do to me is say no....

I think there are some cases where you would have good reason, like on an air pacific flight or to a destination one world doesn't service from the departing city.

Sometimes we try to be loyal but there's no real options but to fog another airline

I think that I've seen photographs of the Qantas Lockheed Constellation of the 1950s, where the roo on the tail was red? Someone may wish to correct me. Maybe it relates to that (or earlier).
