After a long time dwelling in Gold, i'm finally WP

Thanks to the best timed double status credits ever, i've arrived at the semi-lofty heights of WP!

Shame our trip to Paris this year is after my renewal date, but will give me a good start at retaining WP...

900SC to Partner Gold though... tempting.... 7 weeks? possible?

If you have made WP, and have 7 weeks until the end of your "year", you will be WP until end of August 2012 at least.

End of my year is Feb 28th, so it is showing up as being reassessed again on 28th Feb 2013. So have a few long haul int. trips planned for next year where I plan to make the most of it.

That's been noted before.

Consensus is that it's a character ? put in before the author knew what it would be in it's place.

It should reference another character further down the page.

Look above to "On departure Upgrades" and see "Use points to request an upgrade? to Business at any Qantas Club lounge up to three hours ..."

I believe the "Upgrade" '?' should be "±", Priority Waitlist/Boarding '?'s should be "§".

Oh I didn't mean I wouldn't be WP anymore, I meant the time left to attain the next level of WP ie partner gold...

I finally made platinum as well. Doing it the hard way. No business. No double status. All done via Y and Y- domestic flights. Had three international flights but none with Oneworld carriers.

And my first flight as platinum it came in handy. Was able to get rebooked on an earlier flight even though the original ticket was a red edeal.

About half way into my FF year. Still undecided about aiming for 2400 SC level or going for virgin gold.

Well i have retained WP 3 months into my year. very very impressed indeed.. was helped with thanks to the double SC promo.. most in Y, but a few in J during the promo..

I am on track for PG and maybe WP1....

Thanks Luckily it wasn't that much although would be getting close to 100. The majority was pretty much weekly flights BNE-MEL usually 15 SC going there and 30 SC return. Plus a few side trips to Sydney and Canberra it all adds up. Lot of time in 737s. At the start of the year I was at the back, thanks to AFF I am now pretty much always in 4A or 4F.

Yeah hoping for some QF or oneworld international flights. The sooner Malaysia Airlines joins OW the better.

I got WP mainly with discount Y fares.

At the start of the FF year i only wanted gold but by Xmas time had already cracked Gold so i knew WP was achievable.

My FF year ends 30 June.

During the year a few things happened with work that made travel a lot more regular than planned.

Some weeks i had 2 return flights to TSV from BNE and then a weekend away to Sydney with the Family.

I also had 2 holidays overseas which also pushed the points along as well.(1 to HKG and 1 to SIN)

I am now a bit hooked on chasing status credits and my motto is now "why fly direct when you can connect."

Thanks to QF double SC offer & AFF advice I finally made WP for the first time (4xJASA's self funded since 1 April '12 reset). Have enough FF points left (1xJASA and upcoming USA trip) to achieve 2400 SC's to receive additional QF WP privileges. HOWEVER +1 will requalify for QF SG at end of USA trip so partner SG is of no benefit, not interested in limo transfer/valet parking and 50k FF points will just cover the points I use for the JASA. On the positive side I would receive my next loyalty bonus and 400 SC's (double offer) for the JASA if taken before the end of June which I had not banked on originally. Would you go for it??

I wouldn't.... I'd be saving them for a good boost for your next membership year. Although if you are chasing LTG then the SC bonus may be ideal.

My next status reassessment has just been extended to 1 April 2014 - current double SC offer is very tempting to add a few extra SC to the LTS tally - who knows whether I will be offered double SC again.

I am in a similar position. I reached WP and will retain it until November 2013 and am then happy to soft land to SG for a year before another major WP attempt in 2015.
This is all heading towards LTS and then LTG.

I decided to book a 440 SC run doubling to 880 SC to get me past the 2400 SC mark for the year. I then plan to take the 50k points which means that the 880 SC, which was paid for entirely in points will average out at less than 90 points/SC. It's simply taking advantage of the doubling offer to accelerate the LT goals.

I charted out a year by year plan of how to achieve my aims and not fall below SG and it includes an SC YUPP run to the USA every 3 years for the WP boosts. Of course, everything will change when QF apply further restrictions!

So I decided that it was worth it.

I'm likely to hit WP early next month, with status re-assessment 31-Dec-12. I'm unlikely to get to 2400 SC's by my reassesment date of 31-Dec so am happy to just sit at platinum for the next 18months, and then Gold for the 12months following. Considering I have a 2.5yr old and another one due later this year, I'm happy to curtail my travelling for the next 24months and still be at Gold level after all that.

I've been WP for over a year now. Not really sure what all the fuss is about. Apart from a few F lounge visits and the ability to choose exit row seats on 2 trips I haven't noticed any great perks beyond those I had with Gold.
