Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I would like to know if Qantas are ever going to start flying from Wellington, New Zealand?
I would think they probably will from EOM once restrictions start to ease up at both ends but still a fairly limited service as they (NZ) aren’t really opening up much.

We are supposedly opening from 27 February 2022 with no MIQ, just self isolation. It won't do much good for visitors to NZ but it means I can travel, and self isolation is no big deal for me.

I wouldnt think these would resume until Australians can enter NZ without iso. There needs to be business travel in both directions for the route to be viable. At least with AKL there is transit trafiic which helps with loads.

That makes sense. I'll just have to goto the dark side, or just make than black side.

I'm sure but for some (if not most) 10 days isolation is too much. As I said I do expect some will want to fly but don't expect a rush so limited flights only.

IS there a Loophole to self isolate in a campervan?
It is allowed in Tasmania. Was signed off by the Covid Commander here. I was notified when on call for the weekend that an older Victorian couple who had tested positive for covid 2 days before where relocating to Poatina in their campervan. It concerned me as both had significant co morbidities. I wasn't allowed to change the conditions -eg closer to Launceston in case they needed hospital or some active treatment. They did at least agree to my suggestion that they both be started on a Budesonide inhaler.

For tourism 1 day ISO is too much, only caveat being some all inclusive resorts in SE Asia allow full use of the resort and amenities and some even have beach access during this time. I could prob do 3 days somewhere like that.

Looks like Late May could be an option. Back to normal schedules but so much can happen before then.

Boris has said that all UK restrictions likely gone by end of the month. No more isolation or anything if positive
There will be isolation. Sensible stuff like trusting the public to stay home if they feel ill and go back to work when they feel better.
It’s the legal mandates that are ending.
A good thing IMHO.

Not sure frankly. Even though the NZ restrictions on self isolation are fairly relaxed, not sure if this would work, eg how would you get food/ go to the toilet, find campsites all while avoiding contact?

I’ve just booked my first international flight for two years. Well, 2 years 8 months by the time I fly. To Amsterdam in October to visit friends in Denmark and then do a 21 day European river cruise. Some friends are horrified, saying I risk not being allowed back into WA. (Hold the comments, please.) By The time I return in November, all of Australia should be open for business as normal.

There will always be those afraid to travel internationally again until years after flights return to pre-Covid levels. If at all. Reading personal accounts on this thread certainly gives me confidence.

Must admit, I have been more open about my intentions to spend time overseas with colleagues at work and friends. No one has told me they think it's a bad idea. Some are curious as to why but I think they understand and are in the process of moving on from COVID themselves. Perhaps I and others in this thread who have been overseas or are planning imminent travel are just a few months ahead of the curve.

I’m travelling internationally for work in May with work colleagues 😂 - so we are well and truly ahead of the curve by that def 😂
