Priority boarding on QF domestic - what is the story?

Have noticed SYD Domestic getting this right lately !
PA Announcements telling everyone what side is priority and who its for, and one agent walking up and down yelling Priority to the left, general to the right please. Has been a lot smoother for me, in sydney anyway!

I was very surprised tonight with this also, worked flawlessly at SYD. Maybe somebody is finally listening?

Both OOL QF861 and SYD QF751 worked perfectly yesterday - in SYD a passenger being asked to return to the end of other line.

And back BNE-SYD tonight, proving that it is indeed possible to do PB on a QF narrow body. QF, I'm impressed, but like all good things in life, will it last?

I wonder how well it will work on QF 81 & QF 82 on the 13th & 14th April with at least 20WP and P1's

Boarding of QF651 BNE/PER a couple of weeks ago. The PB lane to the right is empty however the F/A doing the boarding on the right hand side would call across pax from the front of the general lane one at a time thereby always being ready to scan an eligible PB pax should they arrive at the gate.

Exactly how it should work! Same in BNE tonight on QF551

Exactly as it should be!

I yearn to experience this!!! :p

Won't happen 100% of the time in MEL, too many staff that just don't give a ****, nor make the correct boarding announcements.
QF international at MEL (in my little transit time there), QF staff won't even follow the correct script.
If SIN and LHR and LAX can follow the correct script, MEL international sure can.

If SIN and LHR and LAX can follow the correct script, MEL international sure can.

Transiting through SIN on QF 9 last night, local ground staff called "parents with children and other passengers requiring assistance", Followed a few minutes later by "First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy rows 30-32" No Plats or OW Emerald call that usually accompanies the second call. And when I tried to board with the second lot was told to get back in the line, despite the Premium Boarding line clearly listing Platinum and me pointing it out. This was then followed by general boarding. Which caused a crowd rush and no overhead luggage space by the time I got to my Y seat. Not the end of the world, but it is a published perk and I even pointed out the mistake while it was happening and it still didn't happen correctly. The staff were reading off a cheat seat, so definitely not following the correct script or reading the correct script wrongly. Was also the only one in the entire cabin section (except one) with no spare seat next to me, and I can't imagine everybody else was Plat or P1 and got the "platinum shadow". Didn't even get my personal greeting on board like I did on the previous sector, so couldn't ask the question.

Oh well, ya win some and ya lose some in the consistently inconsistent QF world

I also had this last year. Someone did the welcome and only myself and maybe one other were welcomed. Damn annoying that I was one of the few people in the section without a empty seat.

Have been doing a bit more domestic flying of late, rather than the usual international - and I must have been having a charmed run, compared with others. Hope this doesn't jinx me but Premium Boarding again worked perfectly over the past few days on MEL-SYD, SYD-OOL, OOL-SYD and SYD-MEL, week days and weekends included there. Long lines for general boarding. Very few in the Premium lines. Personal greeting each time.

I really cannot recall the last Fail on Domestic Premium Boarding - and actually only one ever on an International. LAX strikes again!

Keep it up QF. Makes a world of difference.

[And commiserations to those who are having a less than perfect experience. All I can report on is what I've seen and found.] :)

4 flights yesterday. All PB failures

Agree larger signs and crew that enforce it is all that's required. If they made a big deal when someone is in the wrong line then others will heed the warning and switch lines.

Have never had a problem with any flights and PB.

I always just turn up at the gate 15 mins before departure ie. after they've boarded most people. Avoids the scrum and that's 5 mins of extra lounge time!

Considering Qantas starts boarding 20 minutes before departure in general. I doubt that most people have boarded 5 minutes later.
