Priority boarding on QF domestic - what is the story?

LOL I will be within 100 KM's! I'll be interested to hear whether QF offers PB. My experience to date is that no effort is made to implement PB on the 734.

Luckily it's a day trip for me, so not too concerned about luggage space..

ok so I have 2 flights on Friday, both are on 737-400's. Calling Tony Hancock, will you be within 100km of the airport to ruin my experience????

Hey Nick - if you're skating on thin ice you may as well dance!

I have seen crew that were paxing in J assist with boarding & also airport reserve F/A's too however I think it's fair to say that this is the exception rather than the rule.

It would be great if these non-uniformed staff who have been seen to assist pax with selecting the correct boarding lane could magically appear when a 734 is boarding to a non-CBR destination.

When it's a 734, surely more time off the aircraft is better ;)

Yes indeed, so getting on a few minutes earlier will ensure I don't have to wait for the whole plane to disembark in order to get my bag from the back of the plane because the space above row 4 will have been taken by the person with no status sitting in 25B. ;)

Or do what the really rude and inconsiderate people do and stow your bag in J then proceed to row 25...

To complete the story just flew back on QF 134 AKL-MEL and the kiwis certainly know how to do PB...Dedicated lane and we ( J,Emerald,Cl etc ) were all called to board first !!!...Great start to a pleasant flight home:)

I've never had an issue on an INT sector, most of the issues I believe are DOM.

So what time will I see you loitering at the airport to enhance my PB experience Tony?

Just had a PB success on a 734 BNE-MEL, with only one person scanning BPs! PB lane empty, but the person scanning BPs was on the PB side, with the long standard line being called across one at a time. I walked up the PB line, and the main line stopped coming across (without the staff member even asking) so that I could cut through (very AAccess style)! :O :D Love it!

Seemed to work well today on QF409 to MEL. I also heard loud and clear calls at other gates.

My recent experiences is that the announcements are clear but folks still form 2 lines with both being the same length.
I always see Silver/Gold/Non-Status passengers in the line.

I might start policing them myself

I find only some flights people follow the instructions. Usually the business orientated ones like BNE-SYD.

I love the looks people give when you waltz straight on to the plane while they are 100 deep in line...

Not as good as some of the snarls you get sitting in J while they walk past the curtains...

Know that situation well.. I don't look at the people in the queue anymore, but I've often heard some snickering comments from some.
Well I certainly feel I've often earned the right for the premium line (if available) especially for J & my status on certain airlines I often frequent, it just makes the boarding procedure somewhat more comfortable & civilized.. ;-)

Don't you just have your WP out and on show? That's my way of dealing with any of those concerns.

Ok it was great to see Tony Handcock was nowhere near the airport for my flight to Canberra on a 734. I walked up and straight down the PB Line boarding pass scanned and I was on my way. Didn't event falter in my step!

Now I will admit here that there was no one in the queue at all, but they were operating 2 lines anyway. Flight was light.

Coming home and it was a line halfway out the door. Seriously they do need 2 lanes scanning in CBR.

Yes an experinece I had recently that tops that of the QF WP trick. This was in CDG (Paris), my company provides me with the distinguished service on AF.

Someone meets you at the plane (in the aero-bridge) and will guide you through the airport literally skip to the front of any security line, drop you at the lounge, pick you up later and guide you to your seat on the plane. Again they will move the bollards and let you skip any lines (premium lanes included).

A customer from Y+ felt this was unfair and proceeded to physically try and restrain me. Almost got in to fisty-cuffs over a queue, ridiculous.
