Big failure QF 865 ex OOL tonight

Big Failure QF 497 tonight ex SYD

I know people on here don't like me saying this but 100% failure rate today. Just get rid of it you can't get it right on domestic flights.

Worked perfectly on the first MEL-ADL this morning.

T-30: Everyone requested to check BPs.

1 FA stood at the PB machine.

Passengers* requiring assistance called forward, immediately followed by Business Class and Elites.

Once that list was exhausted, rows 15-30 of the 738 called forward.

Was 2nd in the pleb queue so didn't see at what point the GA joined the FA checking BPs.

Regards,

BD

*Oh .... the word used was "Guests" .... and of course this was VA ... who are consistent in their delivery of the messages and execution of the process. Gate 13 in MEL T3 so lots of disruption to ropes, signs etc

Over the last few months I've kept watch on how smoothly it runs.

I've come to the conclusion it would be better to simply have two queues and two people scanning at the gate. Faster for all.

Matt

Worked on QF 766 tonight ADL to SYD fantastic 25% success rate this week. Lol

I am amazed that this is still going on, it's not that hard to enforce/get right and make customers happy!

I usually stay in the lounge as late as possible, depending on carry-on requirements but at times I like to board when called/early and I refuse to line up

QF594 PER-BNE this afternoon had strict enforcement of the PB line with a gate agent checking all boarding passes and actually rejecting those who did not qualify. The very long PB line was thinned out very quickly when all of the interlopers where told where to go.

For the first time since PB was introduced, well done QF and keep up the very good work. For the PB cheaters, you are going to need better excuses than the ones you were giving this gate agent.

PB worked well tonight on QF696, maybe even too well as I was the only one using it while there was a decent queue at GB.

What were the excuses?

The guy in front of me had QF PS on his boarding pass but stated that he was really an EK platinum. The gate agent asked to see his EK WP card but the guy said he had 'left it at home'. He was then summarily dismissed to the GB line without any further resistance.

QF 5 failed this afternoon so now back to a 20% success rate for the week 1 in 5 works

Awesome to see.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that EK elites get access to QF priority boarding. It's certainly not mentioned on the billboard-size signage QF uses.

QF 798 long line GB no one in PB, walk in get to front and wait, gate agent saw me waiting - I allow three PAX and then decide to cut in - I could see she wasn't too happy gave her my card and her attitude changed to friendly and a little conversation. Usually they say "won't be a moment" and I'm through next. Still not 100% service but there were very few in air bridge and on flight quickly.

worked well in Perth last Thursday, clear signage and a nice clear PB lane... Quick flash of my Gold card and hassle free priority boarding with a smile... Since it was Perth, I was actually amazed that I was not questioned why I was using the PB lane when I'm only a gold... Since in the past I have been questioned trying to access the QP with a PS card on previous occasions...

Flying Business class in both cases there was no rules being broken by this little black duck...Quack

Yes, it's funny that, isn't it. As noted, try entering a lounge without the bare minimum of appropriate membership level and you'll be promptly turned away; try priority boarding with nothing but a boarding pass printed on a dot matrix printer and not a FF card or J ticket in sight and it's simply "welcome".
