Priority boarding on QF domestic - what is the story?

i posted this on the QF facebook page......and OMG their social media person said they are working on this (apparently).

we will have to wait and see.

Whilst I believe the obvious and probable outcome of all this whinging

So pointing out that a published benefit doesn't actually exist is whinging?

Anyway, I just wish they'd decide if the benefit existed or not, and if not then "enhance" away. They are advertising a service that doesn't exist. I'm pretty sure in most industries that's not exactly legal (deceptive advertising?)

At least you will know where you stand if QF actually look at this. Either they will deliver it as promised, give it a minor enhancement (i.e. limit it to some flights only) or a major enhancement (i.e. cancel it).

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know that I have been reading this thread and will come back to you all with a response. I want to ensure I am sharing the most up to date information with you and can be more concrete than previous posts.

I reckon there are going to be a lot of people who will be looking forward to your response Red Roo. As I am sure you realise this is an issue that many of us want resolved and quickly.

Glad to see you still here and participating.

Thanks for the update Red Roo!

I do hope that Priority Boarding is passed onto management, having a dedicated lane is something we all want!

Look forward to hearing the news...

Re: Building a stronger Qantas

Hi Gowatson,

I responded in the Domestic Priority Boarding post yesterday on this one.

I know that Domestic Priority Boarding is important and from reading the thread, boarding is inconsistent across ports and gates. I have mentioned previously that I know this is an issue and we are working on it but I have escalated this to our Customer Experience team to get some more concrete information to share with you all. In the meantime, lets keep this thread to todays announcements and when I have an update on Domestic Priority boarding, I will put it in that relevant thread.

Not an actual answer for you but wanted to let you know that I have been listening and will respond as soon as I can.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Responded yesterday? Where?

With respect many here have asked this question many times and we have never been given a straight answer.

So how about making it simple:

Will Qantas implement Domestic Priority Boarding and this means with an additional Priority boarding lane?

Yes or No?

If No then please remove (Enhance the benefit) from the QF web site.

If Yes, when will this happen? Dates and domestic airports please?

So please no more "we are looking at this". Talk is cheap and with respect there has been ample time to make this happen if that is Qantas' intent. Please just a straight answer as otherwise the credibility of Qantas on delivering future FFer benefits is worth nothing if Qantas can't or will not deliver on existing stated benefits to Qantas' most valuable customers. I say most valuable customers in respect of Platinums as Platinum One does not yet exist, as far as we are told.

But wait, there were 3 WP1 granted. Hey maybe there are more WP1s, just QF has not announced them or their benefits and they are the most valuable customer AJ talked about?

You see when you duck and weave, as QF has done over the lack of action on the Domestic Priority Boarding issue, all that you gain is disrespect and loss of credibility.

So will you answer the question or is this just more spin doctoring?

Re: Building a stronger Qantas

Oh please... You can see the answer at the top of the page, and as it states, wait.

QF has never answered my simple question.

Are QF moving to implement Domestic Priority Boarding via an extra boarding lane or not?

The question is simple and has NEVER been answered with anything but spin.

Red Roo did respond in the appropriate thread yesterday.

Dude. You need to seriously ease off on the subject. You'll do yourself some internal damage.

The really silly thing is to my mind that on the last JQ flight I took I got a plus fare and so I got priority boarding. It was specifically announced. And 2 of us were able to saunter out to the plane well before the scrum of Fluoros. It was friday evening out of MKY.

So if JQ can do it why not QF?

WOW..... Angry much??

I do get where your coming from, and I think you can add Priority luggage to that argument.

I find it incredulous that QF are talking about adding more benefits when they dont even provide the existing ones.

Has anyone seen the latest "priority tag"? A black dot, resembling the OW logo, about the size of a 10c piece printed on your luggage label with the word "priority" written through the middle?? Yeah right!!

You mean this:

If so that is not a reply to the question:

Are Qantas implementing Domestic Priority Boarding via a dedicated boarding lane or not?

but it is similar to what I received from Red Roo about 3 months ago.

Re: Building a stronger Qantas

QF has never answered my simple question.

The question is simple and has NEVER been answered with anything but spin.

To be fair the answer given by Red Roo is not spin - the answer hasn't been "you will really love how we implement priority boarding" - the answer is clear - they know it's an issue and are looking at the best way to implement it or whether in fact they will implement it. If they decide to implement it at the very least they have to get the signs made, distributed, employees trained etc..

Re: Building a stronger Qantas

WOW..... Angry much??

No I'm not angry at all. Just frustrated that QF says they provide Domestic Priority Boarding, yet do not and when questioned many times about this issue all I get is something like "We are looking at that".

I mean please, does this also include intentionally listing this as a WP benefit and then intentionally not delivering the benefit?

To me it is simple. Either deliver the benefit or remove the benefit from the QF web site. There is no "we looking into this" as QF either know exactly what they are doing (they put the benefit on their web site) or if not then they are either incompetent or intentionally not delivering the benefit, which is actually a bigger worry.

Please, they intentionally put the benefit on their web site. If you assume they do know what they are doing then their lack of delivery of the benefit is also intentional.
