I tweeted the link to @qantasairways as well - here is hoping we get some movement... #PriorityBoarding...

QF408 13th August 2011

The flight was running late. The boarding call was:

'Qantas flight 408 to Sydney is ready for boarding.'

It was just a free for all.

Qantas must figure that boarding will be quicker if there is a scrum at gates.

QF634 yesterday boarding announcement: " ".

That's right, nothing. Not until the entire crowd was gathered around the gate anyway. To top it off it came up with "multiple customer" when they scanned my WP card and I had to go back to the service desk to get a BP - she said that sometimes happens when more than one person is on a booking, although I have a feeling it was my platinum shadow. We had 4B&C in the booking but at OLCI I changed it to 4A&C & B remained blocked.

Just watched the "Next Gen Checkin" video for Platinum members - The guy says "Priority Boarding" for platinum members on domestic flights as well!

I've just received the 2012 renewal kit. On the back, the priority boarding section now reads "on selected flights with a QF flight number" - sounds like it is being enhanced out for domestic single-aerobridge operations.

Whilst I believe the obvious and probable outcome of all this whinging, if its ever brought to management attention is likely to be 'enhancement' (re: delete the problem 'benefit'), at some point a full service airline enhances itself into a LCC ....

It says that on the website as well in some of the fine print.

I just saw that today as well.....

Definitely different to what it used to say.

The status comparison page still says domestic.

What whinging? We are just asking for / demanding the delivery of the stated benefit.

Domestic Priority Boarding

For what it's worth I caught the end of the announcement as I was walking down towards gate 18 in BNE yesterday.

'Rows 4-14 can board now. Chairmans Lounge, Platinum, Gold (or something along those lines) can continue to board at their convenience.'

By the way this was a 737. I was one of the last to board and even then there was still around 10 people in the aerobridge. I hate waiting in queues. Plenty of room for my bag under the seat in front.
