Priority boarding on QF domestic - what is the story?

On the flight home from the last JQ35 run, there was no priority boarding announcement made. When they called rows "x-y", I'm pretty sure it was the back of the plane, either way my row definitely wasn't included, I just walked up and handed over my boarding pass. The gate agent did a double take when she saw the row number, but then smiled and welcomed me onboard "Mr W". I'm guessing she saw the platinum status on the boarding pass, but who knows.

Or the staff was just too chicken/lazy/embarrassed to actually police the queue. We can have as many announcements, signposts, queue ropes as we want, if the staff isn't going to police and actually implement the policy, it all amounts to nothing. (This, I see, is the actual problem...)

Odd call at BNE this morning, "Oneworld Emerald etc etc are welcome to continue boarding!"

Just as an FYI - BA don't do priority boarding for intra-europe/domestic flights. Not unless they have started doing it. There is no separate lane but you can board at your convenience.

Fine by me.

Seriously! I mean - of course I like priority boarding (ie. DJ/AA/BA/AC/NZ... etc etc), All those airlines (and others) can easily do it - no excuse for QF not doing it.

That said - if QF are deliberately not doing it (for whatever reason), whether slowing down overall boarding etc. Fine! I can accept that.

Then just remove it as a benefit - period.

Or just restrict it to Int and remove it as a DOM benefit - fine with me.

But make a decision - either provide it or not - don't piss off your customers by claiming it's a benefit and then not providing it.

If AJ is such an accountant - then it's marketing-paint-by-numbers - you don't make money by deliberately annoying your "most valued customers".

That pretty much says it for me.

simongr - May 26th, T5C - BA, LHR-BUD. Priority lane up and running. Enforced too with a FA at the entry to the lane, not at the scanner. I was most impressed.

Great news and a great benefit that I think with which QF could get an easy win with their disenfranchised WPs (much more disenfranchisement and I will be taking to rioting in the streets).

Let me know when so that I can pop round to your house and nick your 100" plasma!!! :p

Although on second thoughts perhaps a riot in the Sydney J Lounge might be the way to go!! (Always assuming we have any time to riot with all that queuing for boarding at our convenience)

Too funny.

:) :) :)
Perhaps DJ could do a rip-off of the MC advert : Priority Boarding : priceless :D

They could throw in Anytime Access in that ad as well. ;)

Back on topic, after reading Danger's story I had a quiet chuckle to myself imagining what kind of an bizarre situation it would be if passengers eligible for 'priority boarding' took 'industrial action' on a weekday peak MEL-SYD flight where they all chose to 'board at their convenience' and sit around until 15 minutes before the flight was due to leave and boarding was just about to close. (It's an amusing hypothetical, please don't think I'm endorsing it.) :p

Love the web site...

Very Cheeky,

I think it would be funny if we did the industrial action on a flight and waited until they had called all of our names a few times.

Now we are heading somewhere people....
(Imagine QF losing their on-time performance spot?)
