Rubbish today in SYD for QF409 - big banner was up but the tiny lane signs pointed to the other lane... tweeted

QF480 Saturday morning and QF400 this morning (Sunday) worked, no one policing but PAX self-policed well. (As observed by me, obviously I don't have access to Premium Boarding :)

QF442 MEL-SYD on Saturday afternoon was abysmal - one of the worst PB implementations I've seen. Equal(ly long) lines in both queues, no enforcement, etc. Coincidentally, QFF just sent me a feedback survey... time to give them a spray.

QF427 SYD-MEL on Sunday working brilliantly, although I'm sure it was pax self-enforcement. 100+ people in the regular queue when I got to the gate, and no one in the PB queue.

QF455, SYD-MEL, big messy queue at the back, but the PB line was near empty once i got passed.. two people who walked into the PB self policed themselves back to the general queue.

Seems to be working better now they have limited to Business and WP only :-)

Worked extremely well MEL-SYD and return on Mon/Tues this week

QF574 right now out of PER. Complete mess. General queue was shorter than PB lane so I took the general lane.

However, there was someone guarding the Priority security lane!

They should just put the big Premium Lane sign so it blocks the PB lane until boarding starts. Even before policing it, the signage is woeful.

Maybe not 'always' for "priority boarding", but since the introduction of domestic "premium boarding", certainly!

True, I can't remember the business benefits. But the listed benefit of domestic priority boarding was always only for platinum.

Horrible experience in Sydney yesterday on QF 429 - Two of us WPs complained to the Qantas agent and he basically said "nothing I can do sir" - complete lack of interest
I said to the agent scanning boarding passes "there's a lot of platinum members flying today" and he didn't get the sarcasm and replied "yes there certainly is"
They've certainly marked the lanes but its a complete mess when boarding actually happens
Qantas fail!

I was surprised that it worked in MEL last night - delayed flights I find always have more people queuing early. Worked really well actually - quite a lot of self policing.

MEL this morning, worse than useless, down at gate 24 for the flight to SYD,

And on 20 Dec I did a four leg JASA with no priority boarding.

MEL-SYD, signs not even put out at gate 24.

SYD-AYQ, signs out but not enforced. I actually went down the general line because the priority line had everybody in it. When sitting in row one a Y pax made some snide comment about me cutting in front as she walked past me.

AYQ-SYD, no priority line and not really expected.

SYD-MEL, absolute bun fight. Flight was late (about 15 minutes) and everybody was there waiting to get on. I reckon every seat was full because the flight prior was two hours late and meant to leave from the same gate. No enforcement or even mention of the priority boarding line.

It is probably time for Qantas to either get serious about priority boarding or abandon the experiment. I mean every other air line can do it, but they actually want to and put the systems into place to ensure it works.

IMHO they clearly don't want to do it, so bin the signs and cut the dissatisfaction.

Has anyone ever experienced PB on QFlink? I didn't today.. can't find anything about it on the website..

29th December ex Per and no PB lane at all !. Trying not to do a DYKWIA, I went up to the side and asked "is there a PB lane operating ?" The FA looked and said doesn't look like it but you can come through.

Not good enough Qantas.

Usually only one lane available, and if two, only one person checking tickets, so not as far as I know.

Closest I've come is a personal call (to mobile) when there were only 3 travelling, by the gate agent.
