Project Sunrise: A350 or 777X?

This time they are assessing the impact of ultra long haul flight on normal looking people. They already have the data on good looking people. :p
So does that mean they'll all be sitting in the Y and W seats for the entire flight this time, instead of the J seats?

Two FOs is a virtually useless crewing structure. It offers no positive over 1C, 1F and 2S crews.

Looks like the pilots are onboard:

Qantas has broken a deadlock on marathon wage negotiations with its domestic pilots, clearing the way for negotiators to hammer out a deal with international pilots which is holding up its ultra-long haul "Project Sunrise" ambitions.

The airline is confident its largest pilot group will back the new pay deal reached on Friday after more than a year-and-a-half of negotiations.

Everyone knows the only way to make such a long flight more comfortable is simply giving everyone more room in their seats. Just make the flights premium seating only, charge more, and be done with this whole "scientific analysis" charade.

And why is it a charade? if they genuinely wanted to test the effects upon passengers, why didn't they experiment with a full load in Y?

Just because the short haul/domestic EBA negotiations are going well, does not necessarily mean that the long haul EBA negotiations will be successful.

They also seem to be well forward of the wing........ Dos this plane have MCAS too?

I would assume that as it is completely a FWB plane, like a modern plane should be, then MCAS does not come into play. It is only on an outdated design like the 737 MAX that such a system is necessary. (Of course one of the pilots on the forum will now come forward and point out my errors.:))

I'm not a pilot but my understanding is that the need for MCAS arose principally because Boeing was trying to avoid the need to retrain pilots to fly the 737MAX.
Moving the engines made the MAX behave differently to earlier 737s. So they had to do something to make it behave as pilots would expect.
Also did you mean FBW? Or do you think the 777X has friends with benefits?

It is obviously a new advanced design so Boeing can say they are not like Airbus - they call it Fly Wire Boeing😉
