All of my upgrade international requests as a SG have been from upgradeable Red eDeal fare types... I'm at about 50/50 for success on Asia to Australia, nothing tried for HKD-SYD in that regard specifically, though. Possibly a bit far out to assess loads, isn't it?

Normally this fare on that run to or from HKG is not upgradable, but going on some posts could be possible and now as a new WP too this might help, I guess a week out I'll try, be nice surprise for Mrs Lime hopefully, I do know she is going to enjoy the 1st lounges.

You have to get in when a campaign is on that takes of the restrictions, being a WP may help with the success if the request if taken but not with making it in the first place if there is no campaign.

We were only aware of it for two days I think. They crop up occasionally, but aren't always announced. Just happened that I checked and discovered it.

I've had 2 return trips to LAX since this offer came out and upgrades have come through for all of them. 1 to J, 3 to Y+. Heading back next week and requests for upgrade are showing, so am hoping they will come good as well. Also have an october flight with upgrades requested. I am SG.

Really Qantas??? There were seats in business class available on my flight from BKK to SYD tonight when I enquired about purchasing an on departure upgrade, but 10 seconds later when I enquired about my points upgrade request J was magically full. you can do better than that, surely? I fear our relationship is at a breaking point. If your staff tonight are as miserable as the crew on QF23 last week it will be time to bid you farewell.
