Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

350 or 420 to/from Mascot.

If arriving/ departing Intl Airport, the 420 to/from Banksia or Rockdale can be quicker.
From QF Dom (T3) the 420 is best to Mascot station trains and the city but a 350 will get you close to Mascot Station if there’s an extended wait for the next 420.

I cant remember a weekend for the last 30 years where busses haven't been replacing trains on at least one (usually more) lines - so BAU.

Yes, there’s always “scheduled” track work somewhere each weekend. There has to be or the system will grind to a halt with “unscheduled” trackwork…

But the quote implied everywhere / every weekend for sometime. Could be just a new minister playing politics. Hence quizzing the context.

Sydney Trains on WE are a disgrace...third world countries have a better train system on WEs than Sydney does!

Most Sydneysiders know to avoid trains on the weekends, better also to plan to take a bus rather than a rail replacement bus (as those seem to take the most convoluted routes to get anywhere).
 
Maybe already know, zone 1 and zone 2 MEL Myki is now a whopping $5 for a 2 hour ride, max $10 I think for an all day(er).
So, the 901/478/479 from Tullamarine to Broadmeadows, to the city, will now be $5.

and weekends are max $7.20 per day
... and those of us with a Seniors Card can travel on weekend at no cost.

(For me, that's one hour on a Frankston train, another 35 minutes on a a Broady train, 25 minutes on the 901 bus, 5-10 minute walk to T4/T3/T2/T1 and connection wait time. But hey, it's 'free'!)
 
Pity 10 rides on Mel SB only has a max life usage of a year!
I do have the app, and its easy to retrieve the BP for scanning, but I don't (heh) make 5 return trips to MEL in a year.
That is the only advantage of the 10 single trips on the SB app.
