i don't know why i still find it so amusing, but i do laugh pretty hard and think to myself "yeah you're really going to check that notebook bag in ... yeah right ..... just don't sign the waiver!"

and who lets their hand luggage out of their sight when they are travelling anyway?

all the important ppl know you're a SG/WP/P1/CL etc, i'd love to hear what theinsider thinks about the DYKWIA's with tags on their backpacks and small leather carry cases that would have never traveled in the cargo bay, or ever will

and even worse the show off CL's that slot themselves into my shadow in 1C T-2 minutes with their boarding pass face up forward in their top right pocket (ok fair game ... call me a hypocrite ... but maybe if i was CL, you might find me doing this .... eeek :P )

i will admit, to having a WP tag hidden inside a pocket of my larger sized rollaboard in the extremely rare event i will check in luggage and purely out of curiosity of trying out the NGCI for the first time

......but yet you advertise your Qantas Platinum status here on AFF? Interesting, where is Freud when you need him?

I have an SG Q Tag on my rollaboard. I do this to entice the rage of WPs in the BNE Intl Flounge. :p

Hmm. I still have my Qantas Club tags from years ago. Wonder if I should put them on in the SYD F lounge next time I'm there

Mrsdrron does put her tags on her carryon. When travelling domestically she goes HCO so no need for a checked bag.Virtually all instances of checking a bag on QF is for OS travel. The only time I check a bag on QF is to and from DPO-no need for a tag.
The first time I saw a CL tag-and there were 2 pax with them-was on SQ SIN-BNE a week ago.Yes on their carry ons.See plenty when travelling on DJ.
My carry ons usually have a collection of AFF,FT,old AA tags, even a Golden wings tag and a very old gold QF tag from the days before WP.
One of our checked bags had a CX F label on it for about 6 years. Not because it was a DYKWIA but no one could remove it.Several tried until last year flying out of MCO-the AA agent looked around, came up with this fiendish looking knife and voila it was gone.kinda miss it though.

I'd also hazard a guess that a lot of the people putting q-tags on carry on bags simply don't know the intricacies of how they work, like the population if AFFers do. They simply get the tags in the post and just use them.

I must admit that I have my CL tags on my bag. I think they look great :) Yes it is a bit DYKWIA but screw that. I don't force people to look at them. By the standards of some of my contemporaries (who have waved their CL cards in the faces of others) its quite tamed. The worst one was when a WP travelling in Business Class came trumping down an air bridge in JNB waving his card and boarding pass saying "I am in Business Class and am a WP". I showed him :-) "I'm a CL traveling in First we are all in the same line" :P hehehe

I have had to gate check my rollaboard on every American Eagle flight I've taken, and on one mainline AA flight. A rollaboard simply won't fit in the overhead bins or under the seats in those planes. It's a black rollaboard, so the QF tag helps me recognise it in the scrum at the gate (arriving into ORD in May) or on the tarmac (LAX American Eagle terminal). Three of my last four trips to the US have involved American Eagle, so it's become a somewhat regular occurrence.

Just realised that I am flying to MEL ahead of mrssimongr and toddlergr and I am taking their luggage with me so I might actually use the tags

DYKWIA/W??

Next time i fly i should have them all on the carry on bag.. I will be the envy of the DYKWIA crowd!? haha..

Actually you seem to be missing the CL and red tags. I can only see the WP, SG and PS tags. Love it.

But where is the AFF tag, you're nothing without one.

Yes. I know. If a CL would like to donate to the fund? I am more than happy to accept... ;)

Are the AFF tags still for sale? I am keen to purchase one. But thought there were none still available?

As previously mentioned, no CL or QP, which I have on my bag full time, but you also have the old WP, the new one looks much better and different to the PS tags. :p

Sorry to bump an old thread. I guess a large number of people still use them to just record contact details like the old ones.

I miss the old tags, I never got any as I joined QP in the lead up to these tags being released and never got a plastic card.. Any way you can still get one?

Still, better than the AA card, which is basically a sticker which doesn't stick. I've moved my QTag from my checked to backpack on a domestic connecting to international flight, otherwise who knows where my bag might end up.

I have one of my WP plastic tags from when I first when WP 10 years ago (the other was minced attached to checked baggage). It's now very brittle.

I have only one set of WP coasters as I was WP when they came out.

In contrast, PartnerJohnM is PG and keeps getting a new set of SG coasters every year as she is 'welcomed' to PG. Go figure how QF IT works .

And I NEVER put a WP coaster on my carry-on. There is, after all, subtle and non-subtle DYKWIA in this world....
