Re: First time through the frosted black doors

Ay-Thang-Yaw'll (Google Arthur Askey!!)

the following has nothing to do with tuapekastar's post....I just wanted to acknowledge myself as a DYKWIA...for the time being anyway! :p

I did consider nominating you in my post (;)), but figured if too many people know who you are, you would no longer be able to say 'DYKWIA'! :p

He could ask it, but they'd have the answers ...

Disagree. I love the next gen checkin. I've used the tags a few times and its easy as.

Agreed NGCI is one of the things QF has designed and implemented very well.

But not quite as well as Virgin Australia Premium Entry at SYD ;)

Walking through London today I saw a bloke walking around with a tiny backpack with a Chairmans Lounge Q-Tag and not 10 minutes later I saw a lady walking around with a QANTAS Club Q-Tag on her handbag!! Crazy!

I have a 10 year old QANTAS club bronze tag on my carry on. Do I fit the DYKWIA profile?

The tag has my name and mobile number on it, in case I lose the bag....

Not a good move - the readers could lock on to any particular one of these at any of the stages in the process - your luggage is quite likely not to make it to you actual destination.

They’re located on the inside of my backpack, which will never be checked. I meant more so that if I go somewhere and come back with a suitcase, or even bring a suitcase from the get go, I can choose the flavour of the month for that checked bag, from within my backpack.

I realise the implications of checking something with multiple Q Bag Tags ;)

Actually (serious post here) I am open to any donations - I need a few more bag tags for my coaster collection, I am especially interested in GOLD and BLACK

:)

seriously...

:)

I’ve been interested in Black for a while too, but BR wont acquiesce my request :(

I spotted my first CL Q Tag on AY 82. Picture removed on request :)

Only if you think by showing the tag to staff entitles you to the QF Club and the Service Desk.
.

Just spotted in the train station domestic terminal SYD

Extremely hard to make out in my covert picture taking. But that is not a Qtag at all but a third party luggage ID tag made of card so rather thin.

When travelling OS I will take the tag off my suitcase, and just attach it to my carry on, at least some identification if my bag is left behind anywhere.

So tho take this to another level, if you have paper tags on your luggage, how long do you leave them on ? Maybe a new acronym is required for this DYKWIB (Do you know where I've been) ?

Into the bin as soon as I arrive and checked it is my bag. I've given up on removing the bingo tags on my hard luggage. Marker pen fixes that.

I have an SG Q Tag on my rollaboard. I do this to entice the rage of WPs in the BNE Intl Flounge. :p
Really, Even with all the RFID-blah-de-blah-de-blah, I use it likethe old bag tags. It's to help me identify my bags. Especially on flipping AA flights where thanks to delays with AA in LAX my 1hr20min "layover" in DFW turns into 20mins & I can't take my carryon on board with me. Or when I'm on an American Eagle flight and can never tAke my rollaboard on with me.

Little Miss 5 also has her old PS tag on her Disney Princess rollaboard. DYKWSI??? ;)
(& note we're both using tags from our first Q bag tag letters, not the ones of our current status)

You're perfectly entitled to, even knowing or not knowing that they're as good as cough on a bull.

You go girl !!

My (free) tags are still in their original packaging. And they will stay there until I can find a shred of evidence that they help me in any way when I travel. I've not found anything to date!
