Qantas 737 Refurbishment tracker

Biggest issue from the lack of a curtain in my view is the J bathroom will now be more frequently used by Y pax. I've been on two refurbed birds now - one flight was very short an no-one used the bathroom. The other was just under 2 hours, I was in Row 6 and saw at least 5 people from behind me go up to the bathroom. Only the J cart now provides a disincentive.

Hardly likely, the number of people using the J toilet is excessive even with curtains IME.

The curtain doesn't bother me when seated in row 4. I did see someone totally rip down the curtain that was part of the test configuration when getting out of 4A.

VXP "Logan" arrived in BNE as QF634 ex MEL then towed to heavy maintenance tonight.

Not sure if it's for refurb or something else.

TBH I havent seen the curtain pulled on any short flights in quite a while, even my last BNE-PER in a 737 curtain wasn't pulled J cabin was just a free for all for the toilet, guess now that wont improve, it will make it worse, have always felt the curtain and curtain 'wall' has made the J cabin feel like a seperate cabin but now Y & J are just one big happy family!

Qantas responded well to my feedback, they seemed to very much understand my point and agreed that it de-valued the experience. They are going to push the comments through to management and the team in charge of the refurbishments. But I suspect not much will happen. I suggest others who experience it send similar feedback. If we don't complain they won't know

VH-VXE is back in service today (Feb 4) after refurb. This is confirmed by the updated seat map on the QF site.

Appears two more aircraft have gone to BNE
- VH-VXP - In 1/2/16
- VH-VYA - In 3/2/16
Expecting VH-VZW will depart BNE any day, but probably unrefurbed (like VZV before it, a check only)

VH-VYE should also be getting close to departing SYD.

Will update once the above has settled.

I've been on a number of these birds in the last month and I have 2 comments:

1. Row 2 pitch seems tight. It was not pleasant.
2. Ipad mini was in seat pocket when I bothered to look

re lav use.. I see this all the time - refurb or not. Only rarely do I see the CSM or FA actually make an effort to enforce this. I must say had one recently who was polite yet brilliant when Y pax came forward..something along the lines of "We need this toilet free for our Business customers. There are 2 at the rear of the aircraft you can access" (I think the issue was that the lav was occupied and the "interloper" was hanging around row 1 waiting.

Most times nobody says anything. Personally I don't really care that much - unless I want the lav :D If I was in row 5 I would think "why shouldn't I use the closest one?"

VH-VZW also on test flight today but will assume check only for now.
Now at the point that 2/3 of the fleet has personal entertainment

VH-VZW back in service operating two flights yesterday. Seemingly hasn't been refurbed.
VH-VZX appears to have gone into BNE maintenance - again most likely for just a check.

Internal FIDS is displaying 12J/156Y.

It's rarely incorrect as that is used for seat allocation.
