It might just be for a quick maintence, although only time will tell
I was on VZR yesterday and the curtain was in place - and in use.Does anyone know if the refurbs include removing the curtain between J and Y?
I was on VXC today which has just been done and there was no curtain and a constant stream of Y pax using the J toilet. As 98% on my travel is in Y (today being an exception), I couldn't care less. But I know there are plenty on the forum who believe the people in the narrow seats should use the narrow loos.

Thanks for the info. There were red leather J seats, but no BSI.VZR hasn't been refurbed so should still have the curtain.
It's also over 4 years old.

Wasn't VXC the test case plane they installed the different divider and overhead bins into a year or so ago? In which case I don't think it can be definitively said they're not putting a curtain on the refurbished as I'm 99% sure it was a black sheep already.
Having flown this aircraft two days ago, I can confirm no divider. Or to be totally accurate, if there was a divider it was not put up or used by the cabin crew. At times the queue of Y pax waiting to use the forward toilet extended to row two.VXC was the Project Amber aircraft but it has subsequently been refurbed with the extra rows, and QStreaming and I would assume the new divider - will still have different bins.
This ABT article shows the divider

No J curtain is surely a mistake. Great for row 4s, but very poor for the J cabin unless the crew enforce rule of toilet up front is only for J. Maybe 1 in 5 CSMs in my experience bother to enforce.
