Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

Boarding started at 3:15pm and we've been stuck onboard since - currently 3h30m.

The crew have given out a bag of pretzels and refilled people's water bottles, and we're able to get up and walk around.
Hopefully you don't have connecting flights that are going to be missed!

Just the onwards SIN-LHR leg so no risk of a misconnect for me.

There are plenty of folk onboard asking questions about their connections to elsewhere in Asia and Europe, but I've been impressed at everyone's patience and attitude. If this was a JQ flight to Bali there'd have been a riot by now.

If we do get going tonight, it will be interesting to see whether the SIN J and F lounges are kept open. It would be a significant extension of opening hours - I believe they usually close at 11pm, and we'll be due to land somewhere around 1-2am..

That is not quite so bad then.

That is good at least - and totally agree about it being a riot if it had of been a JQ flight to Bali - a JQ flight to Bali is nearly a riot when it leaves on time...

One would hope that they do keep the lounges open - there are probably people off other flights ex-Oz that are picking up QF1 in Singapore that might be keeping the lounges open.

Seriously stuck on board on the ground for 4+ hours (by the time you get going) would feally test my patience!
I had that last time. Boarded a 330 bound for ICN. Kinda fell asleep whilst at the gate. Woke up 2.5h later and we were still at the gate. They thought they could fix the problem in 30mins for 3hours.

Spare a thought for them - they probably still don't know that tonight's QF1 SIN-LHR will be delayed by several hours.

Neither the Qantas app nor Changi website reflect any delay...

We're now at 4h10m after boarding. Part installed and tests completed successfully, now we are waiting for paperwork and refuelling

They might have drunk so much by the time you get to SIN that you could have a JQ riot on the next leg to LHR!

The delayed QF1 (which I am updating in the QF delays/cancellations thread) went 'live' on FR24 at about 1945 hours SYD time so it may well be shortly underway on the first sector to SIN.

We are sorry to let you know your flight time on QF1 departing from Singapore on Sat 7 Sep at 23:15 arriving in London on Sun 8 Sep at 10:15 has changed and is now departing from Singapore on Sun 8 Sep at 02:55 arriving in London on Sun 8 Sep at 10:15.
