Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Would have retained my status without support anyway (just) but thanks for the 15k points & fiddy bucks i guess. Wish i was actually able to find reward flights. Was hoping for them to open up more seats like they said they would but no luck.

You're unfortunately too late. They released a heap of new seats and they're all now gone.

I think they look like they do, but it was taken into account by fiddling with the starting SC total for the year.
Ah, you’re probably correct! My records had a different total - I was scratching my head yesterday but ultimately not too fussed - it‘s LTP afterall….

Can we have some critique on the (accuracy or technicalitiy within) statement of “1 in 11” are award seats - really? I find that really an incredible percentage of all seats, given there’s rarely more than a few seats bookable per flight. Ok sure, points planes are 100% but i still find 1 in 11 an incredibly high percentage.

Meanwhile, my $50 promo code email just arrived.

Did Platinums receive an email about the free 15,000 miles? I received an email about the status extension but nothing about miles.

Reading the T&Cs in the email, it does seem that there's no restriction that the promo code can only be redeemed by the frequent flyer who received the code.

Are you based outside of Australia/New Zealand?

There was a seperate email (I received first) with the 30K pts and a link to click to accept.

WP, and all I have gotten is the $50 voucher. No extra points. Just a "since you've already made a booking, you will retain your status until your <end date>."

Couldn't book any of the extra seats in J as I am condemned to personal travel during east coast school holidays.

Not happy, but also little choice if mostly a domestic flyer.

Yeah...so no points for non Australian addresses?

If you're not in AU/NZ you're likely more inconvenienced by the performance of other airlines, rather than QF and likely have faced minimal issues with domestic flights in Australia in recent times.

There is domestic, international and also Y awards. Not that hard to imagine.

So it’s been 4 days since the emails were sent out and as a Aussie based WP I still haven’t received anything from Qantas except the standard marketing emails. I’m currently travelling, so ringing isn’t an option. Any suggestions who I should write to, and see if I can get them to follow up my offer? I did get the $50 on the app, but no mention of points or status extension. My husband has received the 2 emails. Cheers
