Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

It can be really quite confusing because the guidelines say:

What will the Status Credits that are rolled over contribute towards?
The Status Credits rolled over will contribute towards attaining and retaining status for Platinum One, Platinum, Gold and Silver. They won’t contribute towards any bonus Rewards, Lifetime Status or Status Accelerators.

However, the wheel shows the rolled forward status credits in the “earned this year” segment of your lifetime wheel. The way it is illustrated is not consistent with the guidelines, but there’s no practical difference at the end of the day.

To illustrate this point, this is my wheel on the final day of my year a month ago

This is then the photo at the start of the new year:

And then finally this is how it now presents:

Ignore a few that hit readjusted because they caught up on some that were missing, but you can see what happens.

They did the first year of covid, but was fixed for the second I believe.
The first one was a "boost" and it was a one-off gift. Once the pandemic was clearly rolling on a bit longer QANTAS introduced "status support" which provided for on-going roll-overs of status credits to help maintain status. No fix introduced, but just a limit to the initial generosity but still providing support.

Hi all,

I'm a Platinum member and like many I didn't receive the email from Qantas about the "sorry points" and therefore didn't receive them.

I've called the call centre a number of times and the person on the phone has promised action but I never end up receiving the points. I emailed them too with no result.

Any suggestions how to get them?

I have a question. Please forgive me if it's been asnwered elsewhere, but I couldn't readily find an answer.

As a P1 (anniversary 31 July) my 1,800 Status Creditss were rolled over but the requirement for "2,700 SCs on Qantas" flights still remains.

So, in effect, they've only rolled over 900 SCs, which doesn't make much sense to me, since if that was their intention, why give additional 900 (non-useful) SCs?

As it turns out, I'll probably get there anyway but the question still remains and is puzzling

I am not 100% sure on that perhaps someone else could answer that all my Flights were on QF.

This is prob best for the P1 thread, but yes, post 1800 rollover, one will still need 900 SC on JQ/QF to meet the 2700 requirement. the QF site/summary is broken (I am in the same situation) and is a known "bug" but the 1800 definitely count as QF earned SC's. So need to make 1800 over the next membership year (eg; by 31 July 23 in this case) with at least 900 being QF/JQ.

Very happy to be wrong, but my accrual of SCs towards the 2700 on QF flights in the first year I qualified for P1, and this year already as, have only included QF revenue tix and not:

-QF Points Club Classic Reward SCs
-JQ flights.

This year I've already earned 270 SCs on JQ and 106 SCs on QF CRs, but the requirement to still earn 2700 on QF flights didn't budge until this last fortnight when I flew a couple of QF revenue flights (recognising of course that 1800 of those are already covered by the rollover)

OK that does seem odd. My own "2700 requirement" has gone down with QF flights (inc CR SC earn - like yours) as appropriate.

It is a known issue that the 1800 don't show on that particular part of the account summary but any QF earned SC's definitely have credited.

I'd contact the VIP Team to follow up or just confirm for you.

The 2700 is for QF flight numbers only, not JQ.
You might be confusing it for the 4~ squiggles requirement which can be either QF/JQ.

Indeed. I stand corrected. thank you.

Has this changed? I could swear it used to include SC's from JQ flights (aware of course that a QF "flight number" can of course include a codeshare on JQ).

Apologies for the error.

I'm pretty sure the requirement of 2700 on QF flight numbers (codeshare included) has been there since the start of P1.

The loyalty bonus SCs might be what you're thinking of - every 500 SC on QF/JQ, up to 2000 per year, gets a loyalty bonus.
