Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

Got our notification through the app today that QF291 is cancelled for 30/4, and we have been moved to QF1 (as we are in PE). They have also added a QF81 flight, using the QF291 timings, with a QF332.

It seems that either QF1 and QF 81 are operating each day, or QF1 alone up to 30/4 (haven't looked beyond that).

So the SYD-SIN-SYD QF291 wet lease is on hold for now.

QF295 has operated as normal in March, but QF291 has only operated once since 2nd March.
If i were to guess, AY probably said to QF they could only staff one flight and from QFs PoV that has to be BKK as SIN has more flights and options.

Finnair, including the wet lease, has been covered in a new Mentour Now! video. It would appear that the AY crews operating the QF flights are rotated between Finland and Australia via BKK. They have 9 day trips HEL-BKK-SYD-SIN-SYD-BKK-HEL.
If AY are having crew problems, then it would make sense for them to ask to reduce to 1 of the routes and shorten the trip time by dropping the SYD-SIN-SYD rotation.

Or maybe QF can bring forward the dry lease timing? With several QF A330 aircraft with supply chain / maintenance issues, they probably have sufficient crew?

It looks like QF291 only operated on 27 March, and there is one flight scheduled on 10 April. Rest looks pretty dire.

I wonder what the actual agreement was between Qantas and Finnair in terms of a) duration, b) number of lights to be executed, and c) T&Cs in case Finnair cannot fulfil its obligations within that timeframe...
