Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF1 SIN-LHR

Dozed off during taxi, slept through the first meal service, and woke about 4 hours into the flight. I knew what the answer was likely to be, but thought I'd politely ask whether it would be possible to order a main, given the completely personalised dining experience (implied dine on demand) spiel on the menu. I thought maybe - just maybe - QF might actually offer some level of personalisation on their flagship route 14 hour leg. The answer was emphatic no, the completely personalised dining experience is simply allowing you to order your preferred main when Qantas decides you will eat!

The FA said all mains had already been heated up for earlier the meal service.. so either they're not loading enough meals, or unnecessarily heating every main up and throwing a bunch of uneaten meals away?

Vegetable nasi goreng (perhaps better described as 'small bowl of steamed rice topped with spring onion and fried onion flakes')

Broccoli, cheese and sundried tomato quiche with rocket

Isn’t the answer that the FA CBAed to bother serving a PX? Extremely poor. Why fly with them?

QF12 LAX - SYD on 30th August:

PDB - offered sparkling wine, sparkling water or still water

Dinner - was about 12:40am LA time (3:40am for me as had started the day on eastern time). Orders taken by status, I was second to be greeted by name.

Beef Fillet with boulangerie potatoes, snow peas, asparagus and port wine sauce

Chocolate & coffee mouse cake with creme fraiche

Mid flight snack - Chicken schnitzel and swiss cheese toasted sandwich with coleslaw

Breakfast - weirdly no mention of Kale on the breakfast card. I always choose whativer has bacon,

I’ve had NP’s kale at Spice Temple - which is surprisingly good. But the green muck on that plate was bitter and nasty. I ran out of OJ trying to wash the taste out of my mouth…😳
Had the breakfast kale back in May (QF12). Horrible.

Rest of the menu looks very similar from memory.

I didn't eat the kale and by the looks of the plates going back to to the galley neither did anyone else.

Anyone seen the DFW-MEL J menu? 17 hours and only two meals, do they have a decent mid-flight snack menu and is it on demand?

Here is the Australia to DFW menu from my flight on 31st July

3 * hot midflight snacks available - quiche or two types of full size pie (you can have all 3 if you wish).

I feel you should file a complaint and request compensation for failure to deliver an advertised and paid for benefit.

So with the latest update, have Qantas got rid of the Aperitivo and To Start, and now have just Mains instead, skipping the To Start options?

Seems like that's the case from the last few posts with the menu?

I've got 2 x International business class flights coming up:
Melbourne to HK - Daytime flight
Singapore to Melbourne - Night / overnight flight

Should I be expecting a Main / To Finish and then Mid Flight options on the daytime flight, and a Main / To Finish, plus breakfast on the night / overnight flight (ie. no more To Start)?

Did QF38 SIN-MEL overnight service on 01SEP - no entrees. Only main and dessert, drinks offered as part of the meal. Was offered champagne on boarding.

Brekkie 90 mins prior to landing

It's still there, just seems to depend on departure time.

Hard to say given MEL-HKG is a 12:45pm departure. You might get the aperitivo/starter service on MEL-HKG ?

SIN-MEL expectation sounds correct - also if that is a points flight, watch closer to departure for any EK F openings ;)
