I had this BNE to CBR last weekend, also a refreshment flight. An excellent dish. The CSM said it was barramundi -- but I too thought it was salmon.

I've been very impressed with the Dom J meals lately. Hopefully it continues.

QF628 MEL-BNE 24/2:

Lemon chicken with ginger sauce and rice:

A bit so so. chicken was tender and seemed quality meat but the "lemon" part of it was the slice included rather than the usual actual sauce and the rice was plain. Ginger was there but would have liked more. It was OK without being outstanding.

S+S was the white so I opted for a 150 lashes.

QF637 BNE-MEL 25/2:

Moroccan chicken with cuscus. It was fine. Not very spicy, not the most amazing meal on earth but not horrible.

Hilight for me was the (according to the CSM) new offering of Rieseling, which I am pretty sure was a Kilkamoon Mort's Black Claire Valley. It was excellent and right to my personal tastes in the current dry style of Riesling's favoured in oz it was not super dry and had a really nice taste to it. I was so impressed I'm going to buy a bottle (sadly doesn't appear to be on epiQure :( ) :)

Assuming it was the Sauvignon Blanc? I'd have had a beer too, it's an overrated wine and been on the rotation far too long. The new Riesling sounds like a good one.

I don't mind the S+S SB but tend to drink reds more onboard. But had to chuckle the other day when a CSM said "We have a rare treat - a Smith and Shaw Sauv Blanc". Don't think he was being sarcastic...

oh I've heard a few really push it as the bees knees and the best rated wine and blah blah blah

hey it's an OK wine but bloody hell they've had it on flights for seems like 2+ years.. I mean I cheer internally when I do *not* see that bottle on the cart !!! Sad but true.

Of course if it was my most loved wine ever I'd be in heaven but I don't know I tend to think too much of the same thing gets really dull.

And i'm not even a weekly road warrior.. if I was and had that offered for like 42 out of 50 weeks I'd go mental. The meals get far better rotation imho

minor points yes but it does bother me (and I do not drink red wine, but that's just a personal preference for me)

I think the first vintage QF had of it was better than the current stuff. I remember quite liking it when it was new but now you couldn't pay me to drink it :)

Duck pancakes with Hoisin sauce. Per-Syd A330.

Was very nice - if a little messy....

Was that your mains? I love the dish but I can't imagine it to be very filling, particularly if this was lunch or dinner service.
