Re: QCC offline for a few hours 10 Jul: "better reloading experience" is the reason..

On iPod...
First I have to log into QCC, get a special code, write it down, then go to my bank account, fill in details and then press enter.
Would have been better if Heritage gave QCC a BSB number!

That's exactly what it looks like they've done.

There's a BSB and account number that is unique to each account by the sounds of it.

Have they fixed the other issues such as the card becoming invalid if you change status while overseas?

I must have missed this one...which video are you referring to? I'd like to follow up with the Qantas Cash team.

The one on the loading page YouTube one.. Page is below

Have just looked, will have a try with this on Saturday (a weekend *gasp*) and see what happens. In the past this would usually mean I would wait till Wednesday to see my money. Looking forward to it coming over faster.

Re: QCC offline for a few hours 10 Jul: "better reloading experience" is the reason..

Appears that this is just a transfer to a normal account, that is somehow linked more quickly to the card than BPAY, or the prior transfer moethod.

My unique BSB is 880-***
And Account is 9000*****
I'm not quite sure why this is much different to POLI albeit I think POLI used a transaction ref rather than seemingly a unique account number (I suspect the BSB is not actually unique), and would have thought there is no reason they couldn't use POLI with this method.

My Unique BSB is registered to Heritage Bank, Toowomba according to this page:

Re: Google Maps find

Update:

The QC Card is completely dead. No PayPass, no swipe, no insert – just a bunch of declined slips.

I rang QC and told them I'm flying overseas in six days and they were kind enough to request an express shipment. It'll still be tight, so I really hope I get it in time.

BTW, can I still make online payments using the 16-digit card number or is the card considered cancelled?

Edit: Sorry, posted this in the wrong tab in the browser. It's related to this thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....am/qantas-cash-paypass-not-working-61451.html .

I imagine you'd be getting a new MasterCard number.

Re: Google Maps find

When I got the new card a couple of months ago (prior to the one before expiring), it had the same number – only the three-digit security code was changed. I have to pay for my insurance, so I'm not sure if I should even try. They'd probably just refuse the payment, wouldn't they?

Edit: the new one would have an updated / a different three-digit security number as well, though. Meh.

Re: Google Maps find

The next thing that needs improving is the time it takes for points earned using Qantas Cash to post.

I agree. If EDR and Optus can post their points on a weekly basis, surely QCash can change their system to post their points a little bit more frequently than monthly.

It's not ridiculous. I don't know of a credit card that posts weekly.

I agree it is not ridiculous BUT this is not a credit card. There is no monthly payment cycle, etc. I would have thought that Qantas could have easily put in place a weekly transfer cycle rather than a monthly one.

It still has a monthly cycle like most savings products, which is why the points credit monthly on the anniversary as you get the statement.

I am inclined to say, so what? There is no cap on points earned per month, etc. so there is no real reason why each transaction can't have its points allocated as soon as it hits the account and then be transferred to your QFF account. It just strikes that QF have taken an easy way out here - maybe it is part of their 'simpler and fairer' approach?

So what = you not having an appreciation for how the banking system works, which is what is at stake here. It has nothing to do with QF as such, each month a statement is generated as required by law, and that statement determines the spend for points calculation and Heritage buy them off QFF who credit the account.

Actually I do have an appreciation of how the banking system works - close to 30 years working in it.

But you can have your opinion. I will stick with mine. :)

But you don'e seem to get the financial side isn't a QF product. It's Heritage branded as QF. Also there's plenty of credit cards without a monthly points cap, but I don't think they credit immediately either.
