Qantas Cash Card

re: Qantas Cash Card

Exchange rate is not that good. $A1000 buys $NZ1031 whereas xe.com has it at $NZ1079. That's nearly $50 to buy those points. Not bad on some scales I guess but not free that's for sure.

Hmm. Now I know why I didn't bother earlier.

If you could just load it with $A I'd be happier with it.
I loaded last night with USD, rate difference was just over 3% (I compared with XE) but for me $32 for 6000 points is worth it (5000 to load, 1000 to spend).

re: Qantas Cash Card

Performed a cash out to bank account yesterday Sunday and the money is already in my account today! Awesome. :)

re: Qantas Cash Card

Has anyone noticed a discrepancy with the amounts loaded? The amount AUD transferred from my bank account is higher on all the transactions than what appears on my statement (in AUD). I have been asked to take screen shots and email the details as customer service don't know why this has happened.

If you transfer AUD $100 on to QC it will appear as AUD $100. If you purchase (say) USD to the value of AUD $100 it will appear as a different AUD value depending on the exchange rate at the time. QC plainly says the AUD amounts are conversions for guidance only. The true value you have is the USD amount.

re: Qantas Cash Card

he had more than enough funds, and there was no upgrade. The auto teller may have just seen it as a debit card not a charge/credit card, perhaps this is the reason. Either way for this to happen at an airport for a Qantas Cash Card is not acceptable and they need to look into it with the operators of the carpark as it devalues its uses.

Not sure at what point it said "not recognised", but I have found this happens if you push "savings" rather than "credit". JV

He had used the card overseas and was knowledgeable about the cards use. He tried it several times. I do not think that was the reason.
I do remember someone in an earlier discussion mentioned that they had a similar problem with the card at Perth Airport, but I cannot find it.

re: Qantas Cash Card

Looks like the new load method will be here by the end of the week. POLI is already gone.

Important Notice: We’ll soon be updating our systems to bring you a better loading experience. As a result, the website will be unavailable from 6.00am (AEST) until 10.00am (AEST) on Thursday 10 July 2014. You can still access the mobile app to check your balance, and use Qantas Cash for purchases and at ATMs during this time.

If you need to contact us, please call 13 11 31 in Australia or + 61 (2) 9433 2329 if you’re outside Australia. We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

QCC offline for a few hours 10 Jul: "better reloading experience" is the reason...

Wonder if that means that when we load money onto the QCC, that the load will be faster in recognising the deposit, rather than taking 3 days as it is now.
If so, ie, system improvement, I might put more of my dosh into QCC rather than VGW.
This one has probably already been discussed ad nuseum, but I haven't checked the QCC website of late, and saw the note there for the first time.

Re: QCC offline for a few hours 10 Jul: "better reloading experience" is the reason..

An enhancement to celebrate!

Qantas Cash has replaced POLi, introducing Bank Transfer as a faster way to load your funds. Reloadable Prepaid Mastercard | Prepaid Travel Card from Qantas Cash

Experience faster loads (transfers can be made in up to one business day), and members can now make salary deposits (i.e. give to their employer to pay directly).

Re: QCC offline for a few hours 10 Jul: "better reloading experience" is the reason..

This sounds like a much better idea. Will probably try it next time I load the card.

Re: QCC offline for a few hours 10 Jul: "better reloading experience" is the reason..

A much better way of doing things. Poli is pathetic.

Now if only my QCC didn't set off the security alarms in most stores I shop in, then I'd consider putting it back in my wallet!

Hmmm, I've never had that happen. Strange...

It's an odd one - but after extensive testing and the understanding of the staff at my local Woolworths I managed to narrow it down! Whether I take the card through alone or in a wallet, it'll set off the security alarms around ~50% of the time.

That is really odd.

Red... I would have preferred a multiple ability to bank transfer outside of bpay.
Bank transfer outside of QCC means a double task... too time consuming.
Polipay had a limited number of banks in its program with QCC.
But too late now anyway.
