Qantas Delays/Cancellations

There may be a typo there: should be QF130.
I think I needed a coffee, thanks! corrected that one.

QF143 SYD-AKL 10 30 service did not depart until 11 44, 74 late (VH-EBK). Arrival suggested for 4 24, 44 tardy.
The previously advised VH-QPD by @Melburnian1 formed into QF29 MEL-HKG, which departed until 12 01, 136 late. Arrival is now delayed to 18 02, 107 behind schedule.

Due to yesterday's late departure of QF27, which arrived SCL late, QF28 departed on Sunday 2 December at 1511, 96 minutes late. Monday 3 SYd arrival is estimated at 1915 hours, 95 late.

The JNB - SYD QF64 B744 is also delayed, though not as much, with arrival on Monday suggested as 1620 hours, 45 minutes tardy.

Due to the slight delay on QF38 SIN-MEL which arrived 41 min tardy, this pushed back QF153 MEL-AKL 12 15 which departed until 13 08. Arrival is delayed only by 25 min at 18 20 (VH-QPC).
QF23 SYD-BKK did not end up taking off until 13 44, arrival is suggested at 19 03, 103 tardy.

QF172 WLG-MEL 15 50 service (VH-VZW) did not depart until 17 33, arrival was at 19 18, 83 min tardy.
QF163 SYD-WLG 18 30 service (VH-VZG) recently took off at 20 10, this means that arrival is expected until 1 06, 81 min tardy.

Update - QF654 PER-BNE 14 45 service (VH-VXQ Retro Roo) currently diverting to ADL.

Add QF94 LAX-MEL to the list. Departed until 1 12. Arrival expected until 11 38, 108 tardy. (VH-OQE). I’m thinking this may affect QF35?

Most certainly! As I remarked above, this has been occurring quite a lot lately.

The timetable changes QF introduced were good in eliminating the huge amount of late running QF93 used to suffer because QF94 was delayed. The QF94 to QF35 turnaround is more generous. Yet what might not have been considered is that if QF94 runs quite late, we're back to the same old problem of the next flight being tardy. In a worst case, this can also affect QF36, the SIN to MEL redeye. Out of the frying pan....

Some time ago, jb747 and others mentioned runway or other improvement works at LAX were tending to delay some QF Oz-bound flights. Is this still a contributing factor?

Tuesday 4 December 2018 finds QF404 (0630 hours MEL up to SYD, B738 VH-VYD not having taken off until 0803 hours. Arrival is likely at 0920 hours, 85 minutes late.

QF408 (the 0700 hours ex MEL) is also badly late, having become airborne at 0836. A332 VH-EBJ is the aircraft. Arrival in SYD will be at about 0955, 90 late.

A333 VH-QPJ on QF412 (0730 hours ex MEL) is also tardy and was in the sky at 0815 hours. Arrival is 0941, 46 late.

Due to the tardy QF23 yesterday, QF24 is arriving on Tuesday 4 in SYD (ex BKK) at 1007 hours, 157 minute slate with A332 VH-EBS.

Later on 4 December, QF129 (1055 hours SYD - PVG) took off at 1156. A332 VH-EBV should arrive at 1900, half an hour behind.

QF127 (0930 hours SYD - HKG, A380 VH-OQI) is also late, taking off at 1111 hours with arrival likely at 1644, 54 late.

QF23 (A332 VH-EBS) is worse, pushing back in SYD at 1221 hours, 111 minutes tardy with arrival suggested as 1740, 90 late.

A332 VH-EBJ on QF143, the midmorning 1030 hours SYD - AKL did not take off until 1243 hours,
meaning arrival at a predicted 1728 hours, 108 minutes behind schedule. QF126 is often the next flight for this aircraft (1700 hours ex AKL for BNE) so if so, it will be badly delayed.

'The 35' (often a late running flight, as noted by Silvia as well as yours truly) shoudl depart MEL today at 1345, 85 minutes tardy for SIN. In turn this will delay QF36, the redeye back down to MEL.

QF15, the 1120 hours B789 from BNE to LAX is predicted as 55 minutes late in its departure. This may delay the USA transcontinental QF11 today as well.

Also today, VH-EBJ's late arrival into AKL affected QF126 AKL-BNE 17 00 service which departed until 19 49, arrival is predicted at 20 05, 145 min tardy.

A332 QF158 AKL-MEL (VH-EBB) was 49 minutes late departing and is now expected to arrive in MEL at 1000 tonight (35 minutes late)

QF71 PER-SIN, 5.5hour delay. Ouch.

Instead of 12h25 left at 17h49. VH-EBF

Comoman, ouch indeed.

After returning from PER to SIN on QF72, this aircraft often forms QF574, the early morning 0545 hours PER across to SYD. In theory if all goes well it should be back in PER by 0330 hours on Wednesday 5 December, so 574 can depart on time.

QF72 is now delayed from 19h10 today until 10h30 departure from Singapore tomorrow so that is a significant further delay. Certainly won’t be doing the 574.

Wed 5th of December sees QF36 SIN-MEL 19 40 service depart until 21 10 due to the previously advised late arrival of VH-OQF "the 35". It landed at 7 03, 63 behind. Due to the more generous turnaround, it should be hopefully on time for QF93 departure.

Unsurprisingly, QF24 BKK-SYD 18 00 service makes it to the list today. It departed until 19 39. Arrival is suggested for 8 25, 55 behind schedule (VH-EBS).

QF411 7 30 SYD-MEL service was cancelled.
QF2420 NTL-BNE 7 45 service was also cancelled.
QF2266 PLO-ADL 6 45 service cancelled.

It is estimated to arrive in PER at 1540 hours, mid afternoon, on Wednesday 5 December. However QF is not showing any PER to MEL, SYD or QF71 to SIN as delayed. Perhaps just a failure to update the public information as it is unlikely that this aircraft would not have been rostered on another flight after arriving at the scheduled 0030 hours.

They're building a new terminal, so there's substantial works, which affects the taxiways. Things are also slow if you have to use 25L for departure. It's quicker to go from 24L, but you're limited to about 4 knots tailwind for departure from there.

After arriving in PER on Wednesday 5 December 2018 at 1033 hours, 13 late on QF575 (ex SYD), A332 VH_EBR did not become airborne on the 1130 hours PER back to SYD QF580 until 1253. It arrived 64 minutes tardy at 1944. In turn this has delayed QF583, the 1955 hours evening SYD across (again) to PER.

QF776, the 1705 hours PER - MEL has been delayed by an estimated 40 minutes in its departure. This will result in arrival in MEL at about 0025 on Thursday 6, 45 minutes behind schedule.

UPDATE: QF583 took off from SYD at 2118 with arrival in PER estimated as 2253, 63 minutes late.

While QF776 (A332 VH-EBF) did not become airborne from PER until 1805 hours, favourable winds mean a suggested MEL arrival at 0010 on Thursday 6, half an hour late but a little better than indicated above.
