Re: General Qantas Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion
I agree very optimistic. .

Friday night's QF94 A380 has been delayed overnight to a forecast 1430 hours on Saturday 11 April 2015 departure from LAX. If this turns out to be so, it will arrive in MEL at 2250 tomorrow night (Sunday 12) instead of 0735, so presumably many passengers are being put up by QF in hotels, difficult as rooms can sometimes (often?) be to find en masse in Los Angeles.
Sunday 12 April's QF93 is expected to incur a two hour departure delay: 0950 becomes 1150. Will this be a case of QF ferrying down an A388 from SYD on Sunday morning to form QF93?
and I was in safe hands - we were checking in at Gatwick by 11:40 - immaculate service by Qantas.AFF's Flying mermaid is just pulling up at LHR - or more correctly VH-OQE is - at about 0938, as suggested after 0930 - and not far shy of three hours late. She'll soon be in First Host hands. QF10 should be unaffected by QF1's late arrival.
Hours late? Immaculate service? Interesting concept F mimmaculate service by Qantas.

I gave up expecting planes to be on time probably 20 years ago. If they make it work when it goes wrong then I am happy. Yesterday was wonderful service - no stress, no worries. Of course in an ideal world it would all run on time, but it doesn't and I accept that as part of the traveling experience.Hours late? Immaculate service? Interesting concept F m
Seriously? Do you always fly QF?I gave up expecting planes to be on time probably 20 years ago.
Hmm, last time (4 times) I flew EK they were ALL delayed. All on A380's. I have the exact thoughts as FM. It's is IME that A380's struggle to run on time. I will add also, that it wasn't the weather that delayed these aircrafts.Seriously? Do you always fly QF?
Airlines that I have flown on over the years that were delayed include, air New Zealand, Etihad, Crimean, Virgin, United , American Airlines, BA, Olympic, Thai, Cathay, Comair, Kenyan and more. Sometimes you go years without a delay, but sometimes you get a bad run. I have had 3 international flights with Qantas in 6 weeks, all with really bad delays. I hope my bad run is coming to an end., as in the previous couple of years I hadn't had a single international delay with them.Seriously? Do you always fly QF?
I'll definitely report back when I hear from them. Interestingly I discovered after I submitted my claim that EC 261/2004 is actually covered in some depth in the QF Conditions of Carriage.
Just had a message from QF Customer Care that they are paying out the compensation as per their conditions of carriage. €600 converted into AUD and going onto my credit card.
Pretty happy with that outcome and also happy with the speed that it was dealt with
Does that mean you'll lose some points if payments to your credit card reduce the points paid at statement time?
Anyway it's good to see that you've received the appropriate compensation,
