Qantas Delays/Cancellations

The overnight delayed QF1 with A388 VH-OQK is now estimated to arrive LHR at 0723, a day and 28 minutes late so an 0900 hours departure for FlyboyAl is most unlikely.

Wednesday 8 August's QF1 is allegedly departing as usual from SYD at 1555 hours but probably due to minimum crew rest requirements, it is staying in SIN from 2355 to 0600 on Thursday morning for a suggested Thursday 9 LHR arrival at 1305 hours early afternoon, 370 minutes late.

QF2 is now showing on the board as QF002D and we "hope" to leave about 09:00 (that's what the check in staff told us). Overheard some pretty pissed off people in the lounge and I feel for the staff here who have to deal with them. I know it's part of the job, but there is nothing they can do to change things.

FlyboyAl, are they typically annoyed because they've scheduled business meetings soon after arrival in SIN or SYD, or have a funeral, wedding, family event or cruise to go on shortly after scheduled 0510 SYD arrival tomorrow or 1725 hours tonight arrival in SIN?

If you wouldn't mind, please ask the lounge staff about EU261 compo and arrangements for it being offered, along with any claims process.

"Hope" - well if you're lucky you may get away at 0920 (off blocks) as a guess. I just hope for your sake after its extended stay in SIN the aircraft doesn't need some lengthy attention.

Sorry about the coughpy quality but they should be readable. I must find a scan app for my phone

Flyboy, yes, thank you: legible. Well done.

QF1 landed at 0727 at LHR so it should be at the terminal in five minutes or so.

QF2D has changed further to an estimated departure from LHR at 1000 local time on Tuesday 8 August 2018.

The SIN stop is showing as 0530 tomorrow to 0600, but 30 minutes would be a world record so that reflects QF not having altered the departure to become say, 0700. SYD arrival may well be after 1615 hours, and perhaps later the way things (aren't) going.

The overnight delayed QF3 from SYD to HNL departed at 1237 so expected Wednesday arrival is 0230 hours.

QF36 from SIN down to MEL (that did not operate on Monay night) should depart at 2115 tonight, an hour late with Wednesday 8 arrival at 0630, 55 late.

'The 82' from SIN tonight is worse, with its normal 2110 hours pushing back becoming a suggested 0015 hours on Wednesday for SYD arrival of 0950 hours, 170 late.

Flyerqf, as there's no QF7 by the looks of things scheduled on Wednesday 8 ex SYD, will QF get out of QF2 being badly late (still in LHR as I write, more than 12 hours late) tomorrow and not have to cancel any A388 flights ex SYD?

QF is operating QF81 and QF127 as A388 this week which I think is replacing the Monday and Wednesday QF7. Not sure they’ll have any slack to cover for the delayed QF2.

The overnight delayed QF2 (A388 VH-OQK) departed LHR at 1008 on Tuesday 7 August, taking off at 1041 hours (1941 AEST). Anticipated SIN arrival is 0613 hours on Wednesday 8, so post-1700 hours touchdown in SYD tomorrow afternoon is possible.

Flyerqf, thanks. On Wednesday 8 August 2018, QF81 is expected to depart SYD 90 minutes late at 1145.

QF63 on Tuesday 7 pushed back in SYD at 1446, 231 minutes behind schedule. JNB arrival should be at 2105 hours, 245 late. 'The 64' is predicted to depart the latter at 2250 with Wednesday 8 SYD arrival a forecast 1830 hours, 215 late.

Another B744 long haul, QF27 on Tuesday was off blocks in SYD at 1333 hours, 58 late with SCL arrival predicted as 1205 hours same day, 55 late. This should only marginally delay QF28 returning.

Although QF127 from SYD to HKG departed bang on time at 1035 on Tuesday morning, HKG arrival was 38 late at 1838.

Wednesday 8 August sees QF36 from SIN to MEL arriving 68 late at 0643 hours.

QF425, the 0615 hours SYD - MEL was cancelled, as is QF407, the 0715 hours southbound. In the opposite direction, QF12, the 0730 hours has also got the gong.

The morning 0815 hours SYD to DBO, QF2040, is expected to depart 35 minutes tardy. QF1563 (1000 SYD - HBA) shoud be off blocks at 1050.

BKK to SYD redeye QF24 should arrive at 826 hours, 121 minutes behind schedule. QF128 from HKG down to SYD should be at its allocated arrival gate an hour late at 0755.

'The 94' (LAX to MEL) is quite often punctual but that is not so this morning, with an 0818 hours, 48 late on blocks time anticipated.

QF3D (the Monday evening scheduled 1915 hours SYD - HNL) arrived at 0222 hours on Tuesday 7 and then departed as QF4 at 0654 hours. Wednesday 8 SYD arrival should be at 1310 hours.

QF11, the 0935 hours SYD to LAX is not normally delayed but today it will not depart until, so Flyerqf was correct (as usual) in implying QF would have insufficient A388s in Sydney (given the extremely late QF2) to cover all departures punctually today. LAX arrival is suggested as 1025 hours same day, 245 late.

The PEK - SYD QF108 longish flight is half an hour late and should be arriving at 1350 hours.

QF64 from JNB is badly delayed due to the outbound, QF63 leaving very late but 63's arrival in SYD this afternoon is a little better than was expected yesterday, with the at gate time showing as 1736 hours this afternoon, 156 minutes behind time.

Another B744 flight, QF28 from SCL to SYD departed yesterday at 1450, 80 late and is not regaining much time with Wednesday arrival predicted as 1855 this evening, 65 minutes late. This aircraft is then rostered on QF25, the 2050 hours SYD - HND redeye that ought be able to punctually depart as usually a B744 can be turned around in roughly 100 minutes.
