Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Sunday's QF10 (B789 VH-ZNF) departed London 49 minutes late, reducing that to 25 minutes on arrival in Perth today, however it was then 56 minutes late leaving Perth before arriving in Melbourne a few minute ago at 20:20 AEDT 40 minutes late. Currently Qantas Flight Status doesn't show any impact on the departure to this evenings Q93 MEL-LAX.

Today's QF63 (B789 VH-ZNI) was 3hours 13 minutes late departing Sydney for Jo'burg, with expected arrival there of 18:25 local, 2 hours 45 minutes late. Consequently the return QF64 is delayed 2 hours 15 minutes with an estimated arrival back in Sydney on Tuesday afternoon of 16:40 AEDT, with the same delay.

Today's QF7 (B789 VH-ZND) was 2 hours 14 minutes late departing Sydney for Dallas at 19:04 AEDT. Since ZND arrived on time with QF6 from Perth at 17:05 AEDT less than 2 hours earlier, it clearly was not the aircraft intended for this flight. Anyway estimated arrival in Dallas is 17:40 CDT, 1 hour 46 minutes late. That clearly leaves enough time for the return QF8 to depart on time at 21:50 CDT.

As B789 VH-ZNC arrived in Sydney at 06:13 AEDT this morning with QF76 from Vancouver (a few minutes early), its apparent non availability appears to be the cause of the above delays.

Today's QF5, SYD-PER-FCO which would usually have been a turn around for ZND, is being operated by B789 VH-ZNA with a 49 minute departure delay - Qantas Flight Status shows this reducing to 20 minutes in Perth, and on-time in Rome - an optimistic estimate for a west bound flight.

Anyone know what’s going on with the 1 at the moment? A cancellation and some significant delays in the past week. Todays (Tue 4 Oct) appears to be heavily delayed also.

I think they had to replace an engine on one of the A380 last week which then delayed that 1 overnight. They are since playing catch-up due to previous crew rest issues (& the A380 sometimes rostered on the LAX route).

The return QF64 (B789 VH-ZNI) eventually departed 3 hours 29 minutes late, with revised Sydney arrival this Tuesday evening of 17:39 AEDT 3 hours 14 minutes late. The flow on delay will again be in QF7 SYD-DFW, which is now expected to depart at 20:25 AEDT 3 hours 45 minutes late, and arrive in Dallas at 19:45 CDT with same delay. Again with time to spare before returning with QF8 at 21:50 CDT.

As indicated by Flyerqf, B7989 VH-ZNC returned to service operating QF 75 departing Sydney at 12:01 AEDT today almost 16 hours late. This flight is expected to arrive in Vancouver at 7:10 PDT 14 hours 40 minutes late. The return QF76 is estimated to depart at 10:30 PDT and arrive in Sydney at 19:30 AEDT on Wednesday, 12 hours 50 minutes late. Yet again the flow on delay will see Wednesday's QF7 SYD-DFW depart at 20:50 AEDT 4 hours 10 minutes late. The arrival time in Dallas of 20:10 CDT, means timing will be tight for QF 8 to depart at 21:50 CDT, and will be dependant on the on-time departure of QF7.

The remaining Qantas B789 operations have maintained on-time arrivals, with push back delays averaging 30 minutes.

The departure from Sydney of QF63 today (Wednesday) has been delayed by 5 hours 40 minutes to 16:15 AEDT . There will be a resultant delay in the return QF64 to 22:40 SAST (5 hrs 10 minutes)

Tuesday's QF6 FCO-PER-SYD (B789 VH-ZNA) was 69 minutes late departing Rome, and as a consequence 31 minutes late on arrival in Perth this morning. The onward sector to Sydney is showing a 55 minute delay with new Perth departure of 11:00 AWST & revised Sydney arrival of 17:40 AEDT

QF1 was a bit slow out of the blocks today with VH-OQH departing at 5:39pm, 46 minutes behind schedule.

QF8 had a slight delay out of DFW and departed at 2308 instead of 2150 on Wed 5 Oct, expected arrival into Sydney on Friday morning is around 40 minutes late. VH-ZNC operating it.

Oops, take a day off and couple of diminishing B789 delays to catch up on.

Wednesday's QF12 (B789 VH-ZND) was 12 hours + late departing Los Angeles - this may be tied into A380s being diverted from QF11/QF12 to keep QF1/QF2 going. The late arrival in Sydney saw the flow-on delay cause yet another delay to QF7 SYD-DFW - departing at 19:00 AEDT, 5 hours 20 minutes late. A super fast 40 minute turn around saw ZND depart with QF8 just 1 hour 34 minutes minutes late, with arrival in Sydney projected to be 07:53 AEDT Saturday, 1 hour 18 minutes late.

Wednesday's delayed QF63/QF64 SYD-PER-JNB rotation (B789 VH-ZNB) finally arrived in Sydney at 20:37 AEDT Thursday 6 Hours 12 minutes late. The flow on delay in this case, saw QF75 SYD-YVR depart 2 hours 17 minute late and catch up some time to arrive in Vancouver 1 hour 45 minutes late. This was a sufficient catch up to allow the return QF76 to depart in time, with arrival in Sydney expected to be the timetabled 06:30 AEDT on Saturday morning.

It seems barely worth mentioning that Thursday's QF10 LHR-PER-MEL (B789 VH-ZNJ) is running just on half an hour late.

While the on-time arrival of QF6 FCO-PER-SYD (B789 QF-ZNF) in Sydney this afternoon marks the conclusion of these northern summer Rome flights, there will not be a spare B789, as B789 VH-ZNI headed off to Singapore for its 3yr Heavy Maintenance this afternoon.

While Friday's QF7 (B789 VH-ZNF) arrived in Dallas on time, the return QF8 left 1 hour 54 minutes late at 23:44 CDT. Arrival in Sydney is expected to be at 08:11 AEDT Sunday morning, 1 hour 36 minutes late. Probably due to the earlier QF7 flight delays, so crew not clear to fly.

Severe storm in Darwin tonight which saw the main runway become out of order with arrestor cables failing....

QF43 pax in for a long night, may have to stay in Darwin after all? They still haven't left Katherine and are still meant to make a fuel stop in Darwin before Bali.

QF43 seems to have ended up refuelling in Katherine and left at 1.05am local time to DPS... so seems like they were on the ground there for 3 hours.

QF44 arriving into Sydney just shy of 5 hours late

Saturday's QF7 (B789 VH-ZND) arrived in Dallas 15 minutes ahead of schedule, however once again the return QF8 is delayed. This time, estimated to be 2 hrs 30 min, with departure expected at 0:20 CDT Sunday - currently Qantas Flight Schedule shows the same delay for a Sydney arrival at 9:05 AEDT Monday

QF1 left SYD pretty much on time Sat 8/10 but despite arriving in SIN on time was about 4hrs late leaving. Aircraft issue, crew? Due in after 10am Sun 9/10 at LHR.

I don’t know what happened but the 4 hour delay in SIN was already recorded Flightradar24 before QF1 even left SYD yesterday (I am tracking the schedule a bit as I will be on it in a couple of days).

So likely crew rest related?

Today, Saturday's QF11 (B789 VH-ZND) was 63 minutes late departing Sydney this morning, however being an eastwards flight, is expected to be only 14 minutes late arriving at LAX at 06:14 PDT
