Qantas domestic economy meals

TSV-BNE this morning: much improved over a the offering a few months ago. Vegetable frittata with a small pork sausage and what appeared to be boiled silverbeet.

BNE-PER: Choice of the reliable chicken quinoa salad or a beef noodle stir fry that tasted more or less like a fried spag bol, but which I quite enjoyed. The cab sav offered with it was quite good. Weiss bar for dessert.

The filling was actually pretty tasty but the top section of the ciabatta was about 2 centimetres thick while the bottom bun was wrap thickness. They also had the egg bite things they serve on breakfast flights on request for a passengers that are vegetarian.

Had to zoom in on that one. Thought you'd actually decided to eat the magazine out of desperation.
Probably should have so I could stomach the rather heavy landing we just had !
That’s a first for me on QF
And then we were welcomed to Sydney !?!

And that’s retail
Would be even less in bulk

Even less again after Qantas spruiks the power of their brand association, the marketing benefit of putting a snack in front of affluent frequent flyers, and how a very large bulk order helps the supplier achieve better economies of scale.... 🙄

I would guess Qantas pays a smidge above cost price

So I do a low carb diet (not diabetic, just feel awful when I have simple carbs, especially without protein).

2x snack flights yesterday; first offering was a rhubarb and cinnamon muffin (no nutritional information on the wrapper - pass). Second one was a date cake bar with 26g of carbs. Pass!

Saw the person next to me ask for gluten free and they were offered rice crackers, apple, protein bar and nuts. Definitely doing that next time instead!

Virgin Australia have a similar thing but no salami - just cheese and crackers. They charge $5.

I realise not every passenger would buy one of those, but that's making a real motza then. (OK, OK... of course that should be no surprise...)
