I flew LST to SYD on June 3. No meal loaded. Offered $20 voucher upon arrival in sydney. Nice gesture but why would I stay in the airport longer than I needed to. Followed up with customer service and got 5k points. Honestly better since I probably wasn’t going to eat the meal anyways

That looks somewhat flaky - the one I had previously was soggy.

Still, agree that it's a tasty choice!
We had the butter chicken pie from SYD to CNS yesterday, was piping hot, tasty, crispy and yes flakey. Mrs Nut pointed out that they might pull this one soon, pastry flakes were hard to control. Could be messy with kids plowing into them.

QF 2043 DBO-SYD 10 July
Evening snack with wine, tea/coffee and soft drinks. I chose the wine which was actually very drinkable. An organic from Angove.

QF428 MEL-SYD today (16/8).

Simple offering of a pear slice, although more of a light cake texture. Was delicious.

Of course, usual selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

QF2253, MGB-ADL on a Dash 8-300, 12/08 - a Pear and Lemon Myrtle slice (by the sound of things might be the same as what you had @andyrb ?)

Wasn't bad, although the name is odd - it's definitely more cake than slice, more apple than pear, and the lemon myrtle may as well not have been there:

They had Coke No Sugar for the flight back up to Adelaide so that was nice (they don't restock here, just a quick 20 minute turn to drop off and pick up new passengers).

QF2254, ADL-MGB also on a Dash 8-300, 16/08 - same Chicken and Sundried Tomato Pesto two thirds of a sandwich as has been served before. No active offer of a vegetarian option this time.

Was pleased to see that the flights both ways, while not completely full, were pretty full, so hopefully Qantas continue their service to MGB as they certainly beat the Rex options (more luggage allowance is a big one for me), more frequency would be nice though.

QF499 SYD-MEL 19th August

Flight was delayed out of Sydney due to catering not being loaded.

Snack was a Portugese chicken ciabatta with mango lime jam. Wasn't great, but wasn't awful. I found it was served way too hot, and by the time it had cooled sufficiently had become a bit mushy.

Had it with a fairly decent cab sav.

"Focaccia" (wet towel in a box, similar texture)

Vino was disgusting.
