Qantas double SCs

It may depend on just which link the other link was. Some of the links are personalised and will just register the person that the link was sent to originally. If it is one of the links that is titled 'Register', you may well just be registering that person again.

Sounds like I need to phone them and send the screen dump which shows my details and registration confirmation.

Sounds like a bug to me, where they don't validate the request against the logged in user.

If I have a screendump showing the words "registration confirmed" and my details in the top corner then they would have to honor it wouldnt they?

Depends - if you weren't selected and are instead using someone elses registration link, then I doubt they would honour it.

Have just returned MEL-LHR Return in J departed 4th April returned today and have this email wonder if I get double status credits :D

No didn't have an email, clicked on one of the links through the thread and it came up with the details and my details in top corner. So assume there was an error or something overnight saying I wasnt entitled. But wanted peoples view on whether I should reconfirm now with Qantas or wait. As I said, have a screen dump of the page to email them if they give me grief. All my business will be going to Virgin (where Im also Gold) if they shaft me on it.

I haven't read this whole thread, and I may have missed it, but can you explain where or how it is they shafted you?

I'm sure there are systems in place for them to check whether or not you were offered the promotion in the first place. Just because you click on the link and was able to manipulate the website into showing a registration page, won't mean they will necessarily honor it. It just depends on whether or not you were lucky enough to rort the system. Reading the first page of this thread should have brought to light the fact that not everyone was sent an email...

At the end of the day, you sent more revenue their way even though they didn't intend it for you...

That also happened on the double SC offer 2 years ago.. it would say the same but if you didn't get the email no double SC. Sorry but even with your screen shot i don't think you will be in luck.

Check post number 1 - and your email offer. Fly now to 30 June, plus August for International. ;)

The way I read it is, July isn't included, which is kind of weird and will likely lead to grumpy people later. That's why I asked and would like Red Roo to confirm my understanding is QF's intention.

I think the intention is pretty clear, July is excluded.:

^ The offer is only valid for the recipient of this email for new bookings made between 1 April and 30 June 2012, for Domestic travel commenced between 1 April and 30 June 2012 and International travel commenced between 1 April and 30 June 2012 or 1 August and 31 August 2012.

Either you were eligible for the promo, or you were not.

If you weren't, then a screenshot hardly entitles you to extra SCs - anything on a webpage can be altered in transit to your browser, so that it shows whatever you want it to say, prior to capturing a screenshot. It's fairly trivial to do by someone technically savvy using some proxy software (e.g. there are legitimate tools out there that web developers use to intercept and alter requests/responses, in order to do simulations/tests)

If you went through this link:
http://www.qantas.com/bonusapril

and were already logged into qantas.com and it gave you a confirmation then you should be OK (would also check you spam filter that its not blocking Qantas emails)
In prior experience Qantas will also send a confirmatory email.
The above link guarantees your registration - I was directed by QF FF staff today to register this way after I phoned and queried my registration that I had done previously via the email from QF (double SC's had not posted after 6 days) - I was NOT REGISTERED even after the confirmation screen (which I have a screen dump). I was assured I would receive double SC's for flights that I phoned about (met offer criteria even though registration was after flights).

Now thats interesting, registered via the email link for my wife and I - received a page note saying I was registered.....took a screen dump.

Just hit the link above & this time I got a message & an email stating registration......gremlins:!:

It's only been 4 days since my QF ASA SYD-MEL-SYD in J but from the reaction of some people here I'm hoping it isn't some sort of glitch. Especially since I have some other flights coming up soon...

I did everything right, got the email, hit register, got a confirmation, proceeded to book. What else can be done? :D

The registration screen does ask you to check that your email address is correct before you send it.
Then the email confirming registration includes your FF number in the subject line, so it's all pretty clear.

Hawthorn's series of posts makes it a little confusing as to what was received when but, if he did receive a confirming email, it might be useful to check and see if his FF number appeared.

I registered my wife & I back on the 4th of April via the link on the email. The only message I got was a screen saying that I had registered - no option for an email to be sent....I took a screen shot, part of which is below.

After reading AV8 post today, I used the link in the tread & this time got an email sent.

Being the stickler that I am I rang the WP hotline about 30mins ago and went through the motions with the friendly agent....she told me that there are many, many members ringing asking about registration process and that the system has failed to properly update everyone's account.

She took my details, made a file note regarding my first registration on the 4th & assured me that all is ok & DSC will post.
