Qantas double SCs

I've got 4 flights on Thursday so will report back as to when the standard and double credits post.

I did my four flights today. The normal status credits have now posted - I'll report on when the double ones come through (next week I expect based on Red Roo).

how long should it take for the double points to show? I hope it is next month once my year resets!!!

Based on my previous experience chasing up SC's that were late to post they will backdate the SC's to the date of the your flight and apply them to that membership year.

Anyone that got the letter, will the bonus points help you get to the next tier, or is the offer not worth anything?

I'm more likely to get to platinum in my current year with this offer, otherwise I wouldn't be chasing it.

My year reset at the start of april so all it will do is boost me up initially. It'll basically give me PG again I'd say based on my current rate of travel. Unless i snag a couple of overseas trips, i can't see myself making P1

Could you achieve WP1 with the double status credits offer in your current membership year? If so, give Qantas a call and let them know your situation.

Regardless, even if the SCs post in your new year, they will be counted in the earn in which they earned. They will appear on your statement with a ~ or similar.

You are getting double status credits not nothing...

It could get you a 8000 point loyalty bonus.

It could get you "additional platinum benefits"

I was targeted and coupled with the HKG bonus subject to flight cancellations or trips changing it will help me get 50000 points.

You wont get double SCs in conjunction with the HKG double SC offer, one or the other.

It's up to you to time your status runs so that you earn the SC's in the best membership year. If your renewal falls in the period while the double SC offer is on you have to be especially careful.

I usually fly enough to be at SG level but with this offer I will instead be WP so it's certainly worthwhile to me. Not only do I get 18 months of WP but due to soft landing I will get an extra year of SG even if I don't take another flight.

Could you achieve WP1 with the double status credits offer in your current membership year? If so, give Qantas a call and let them know your situation.

Previous poster reported that they were 180 SCs short of WP in Feb. I find it unlikely that they've now accumulated another 2080 SCs in two months.

I was just one trip short of gold so made no difference there. But with the offer I should now reach WP whereas before that looked unlikely.

I know you wouldn’t get double double, but surely you should get triple, as the HKG bonus will kick in a doubling of the original flights, before the DSC kicks in for a double of the original flights too. So that’d be TSC (triple status credits), wouldn’t it?

I can't find the original offer for HKG, but weren't those booked before the eligible booking period for this promotion?

Nope, 'fraid not. The T&Cs specifically state that the offer is not be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Feels sad not having received the DoubleSC offer (haven't received any!) although did get and made use of the HongKong offer.

Anyhow, no chance of making Plat1 this year, so all my domestics are going to Virgin, where I do have the double offer.

Always read the rules! I was planning a HKG trip for a little while till I did, now I am not in so much of a hurry

Seems to have gone widely. I have got it and are only a few credits off being renewed for WP with still 9 months to go. Looks strongly like a reaction to VA and to hold market share.

I find the eligible flight details a little confusing.

Does this:

"Status credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes including Classic Award flights and Qantas codeshare flights (i.e. with a QF flight number on the ticket) operated by Jetstar or Jetstar Asia other than in Economy booking classes Y, B, H, K, and L (when booked as part of a oneworld fare)."

mean:

"Status credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes including:


1. Classic Award flights and


2. Qantas codeshare flights ... operated by Jetstar or Jetstar Asia other than in Economy booking classes Y, B, H, K, and L (when booked as part of a oneworld fare)."

or:

"Status credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes including:

If I ticket a DONE4 wholly in June with QF, are sectors with QF flight numbers eligable for double points?
