Qantas double SCs

Whilst I did not receive the email for the double status credit promo, I got onto the registration page and successfully registered with a confirmation message. However, when I checked with the call centre I was told I was not entitled. Because of the confirmation I booked a return on J to prop up my SCs to requalify for WP which expires at the end of the month. QFFP refuse to honor the confirmation. What can I do?

Fly twice?

Are we nut cases when we do a long cut by going thru Melbourne from Sydney to get to Perth whe we have a double SC offer?
I don't think so but I have been known to be wrong according to Mrscove.

No, l'm doing that later this month on a JASA, and return too. ;)

In 3 weeks time, instead of SIN-SYD, I'll be doing SIN-MEL-SYD-ASP-SYD, and since the JASA takes me back to MEL, I will also be doing SYD-MEL-SYD the day after. Would've done it the same day if I didn't need to be in SYD that late afternoon.

If you are a nut case, I surely should've been sent to a mental hospital a long time ago. :)

If you went to the link provided by Red Roo, signed into your account and it said you were eligible then that should be all the proof you need. I used the same link to confirm for myself (though I got the email) and it said I was eligible, while when I did the same for my sisters account it said she wasn’t eligible.

So if you were eligible and got the confirmation email, what’s the problem?

Nothing, while the confirmation message appeared to everyone, the T&C's at the bottom stated you must have been targeted.

Well you cannot do anything. If you didn't get the email why would you think you are entitled to it??

Because ANYONE could get the confirmation message and the T&C's are very small to read (that said you needed to be targeted)..... You could fight it............... but it's a very fine line and not worth the effort IMO

I checked for my wife using the link and it said she wasn't eligible. Thy suggests that the result should be pretty much correct.

Everyone couldn’t get the confirmation message though?

Depends if you’re referring to the static link that says you’re registered, or the link that requires you to login before it spits out an answer. The latter, the one that also sends a confirmation email should be proof enough that you are a part of the promotion.

we are doing BNE-AKL-MEL-BNE in July with a 4 day stopover in AKL (JASA) this will take me to WP

I did call today about my experience using a gift voucher. Initial response was that the booking date was December 2011. I mentioned that it was technically a new booking as I didn't originally book any flights in December. So investigation and he response was a promise to make a manual adjustment. There seemed to be some acceptance that it was in some way a new booking. Pretty good result, for my stupidity in using a gift voucher.
Why is it a stupidity in using a gift voucher? As far as I am concerned a booking today using a gift voucher purchased in December 2011 is still a new booking. I have no doubt it is a new booking as the booking did not appear in "My bookings" in December 2011 but only after I made the booking yesterday.

I have made some bookings using leftover gift vouchers and one way or another I would expect to receive the double SCs as per the conditions of the offer.

Isn't July outside the double SCs offer period?

I thought it was until June 2012 and then August 2012 only for international flights.

I would like to get a double SC offer as I haven't had one for ages! But maybe not till November when my new year starts! Hint hint.

As per my earlier post I registered my wife and myself using the link provided by Red Roo. Did not receive the email offer. I have emails from Qantas confirming the registrations. Also checked with Qantas and they confirmed that I had registered. I was also told that I could use a Qantas Gift Voucher brought in December but to speak to a consultant first.

On 3rd May received an email from Qantas offering double status credits to retain gold as my year finishes in August. Wouldn't it be nice if I received double double status credits for any eligible flights as this latest offer did not come with any conditions except to register. Next year would have been better for the offer as I will make WP by the end of May thanks to the original DSC offer.

I don't think it matters what your latest offer doesn't say about conditions as the targetted DSC offer says it can not be used in conjunction with ANY other offer.

You will find the original booking was made in December and will not qualify for the double SC's.

An Amadeus PNR is created with your gift voucher for the segment "GIF-VCH" and using the tip found here, I have my vouchers showing under my bookings.

...
The first thing I do when I book QF gift vouchers (which are just dummy bookings) is log on to the BA my booking page (ba.com) just using the booking/voucher reference and your surname. Once you're on your 'booking', in the list of options on the page there will be one to add your frequent flyer information. Add your QF number and you're done, this is also a good way to add such info for compensations and other messed up bookings.

The gift vouchers are dummy bookings for the lesser known Qantas flight QF9090, from Winter Haven to Vichadero (GCMAP).

Once you've added your QF number onto the booking you should immediately find it now listed on the QF my bookings when you login with your QFF#. Sneakily the QF computer recognises the cunning combinations of airports as a gift voucher. Clicking View/Change takes you to the voucher booking page. This way you never lose track of your gift vouchers!
The flight is from "Winter Haven", Fl (GIF) to Vichadero, Uy (VCH)

So the segment is GIF-VCH
