It would be nice - currently in HKG - would love to have had double double SCs - would have been 960 SCs for the trip...

Double Status Credits email in the inbox today for one of my Little Princesses :)
Think she's now just a JASA SYD-MEL away from PS

Details Princess, details.
was it for the same period? Sent today?

I don't need it (already requal'd plus i got the original offer) but it would be great if the +1 got the email! Would save me a motza in J fares that i have to pay to ensure lounge access when he's travelling alone.

Sent today, it's related to her SC reset end of July and for all flights booked from now and taken until then.

Did my Jasa on this tuesday, points/sc came through next day and today last of double sc came through and bonus 8,000 points.

Mother gogo (NB) received the email today. Book and fly before end of June. Her status period doesn't reset till end of Feb next year! She was (PS) last year or the year before (can't remember). I tried to convince her that she needs WP.. :) ;)
Although she has no use for it as Father gogo is WP and there is no way she would do a NAN run and something extra to get there.. Now Red Roo, please send one my way! And i will be more than happy to take you up on the offer of extra flying to get to WP!

Interesting. Thanks for the deets.
Given the lack of interest in your post, I presume this has been happening to others and I've just not followed the thread properly?

The +1 has a reset of Feb, so I assume I shant be so lucky. :(
enjoy the J with lil princess, she sounds spoilt :D

Already had 240 SCs booked during the offer period , but so happens I had some time off work, so have booked a JASA - and will visit a friend in CBR.

BNE-SYD-CBR (overnight)-SYD-ADL-SYD-CBR (overnight)-SYD-BNE. 61K points (net) +$507.00 for 720 Status Credits. And a brief visit to the SYD Flounge and QF81 to ADL.

Now I just need to tell Mrs Aus ATC!

Just completed the above JASA status run this evening. Highlight of the trip was QF81 to Adelaide (and of course the Flounge before hand). Only 2 people in Business Class (with at least 3 cabin crew). Excellent service, Billecart champagne flowed..... (minor problem with the AVOD - it didn't work in business class - but I had my Ipod)

I ended up making a couple of changes to the itinerary (on the day).

Adelaide has a minimum connection time of 90 minutes (according to the QANTAS website), so I couldn't originally book the 1450 (QF756) return flight (QF81 arrives 1350), however on departure from CBR, I asked at the lounge and was promptly given boarding passes for the earlier return with an appropriate connection at SYD to CBR. Got me back 3 hours earlier and in time for dinner - not that I was too hungry!!

The second change was an earlier flight CBR-xSYD-BNE. Unfortunately being Friday afternoon with parliament sitting, flights were full so I got an earlier flight, but a Dash 8 economy flight to SYD. And it only credited discount economy (say good bye to 60 SCs!). I had tried yesterday in the SYD lounge to amend this flight, but was told that because it was an award flight I had to change it on-line or by phone.

So it seems that on the day, JASAs are very flexible - which can be handy to know when the points required can be so variable. If timing is not critical, book the more economical one, then turn up early and take your chances (just not on Friday afternoon in Canberra)

As for Mrs Aus ATC - jury is still out, but a few brownie points were gained with the earlier return home.

Yes, it's not uncommon and since I posted earlier 3 of my offspring with end July re-sets got the same email.
I think it's becoming a lot less rare.
FWIW I also received the same offer earlier and I had bookings in advance which more than re-equalled WP long before my re-set at the end of this month.
TBH I'm starting to get a little worried about the apparent desperation I perceive in QF to gain increased bookings by offering more and more people "reduced" levels for status ie. double SC's.
I don't particularly care about who is getting status and by which means but I hope that QF aren't relying on this QFF marketing push to keep afloat :(

I wish the double SC would post showing the date and the flight numbers - I am missing one flight but I am not sure which one!

I'm the same, 7 flights last week & only 5 DSC posted on Tuesday. Rang QF today & got the line re-6 weeks....so not worried & will wait.

As someone who has been a member since 1996, been PS,SG, WP & WP+ for 14 of those years & never been targeted for any offer - until now.....I'm as happy as one can be. IMO let the SC offer run free as it seems pretty much everyone else has been feasting on them for a few years!

just got my letter about the DSC offer, but it has to be new bookings is that right? between the dates? i think thats what it says but i refuse to believe my eyes!!!! :P

Got the offer for my eleven year old daughteers account, She has 140 SC currently with 9 flights. I really cant see the value in her doing a status run. But she will be requiring 3 flights next month.
Wish the offer was transferable

she's only 560 SC from gold, which is definitely achievable with the help of a JASA. She can guest you when you fly around.

Why is it a stupidity in using a gift voucher? As far as I am concerned a booking today using a gift voucher purchased in December 2011 is still a new booking. I have no doubt it is a new booking as the booking did not appear in "My bookings" in December 2011 but only after I made the booking yesterday.

I have made some bookings using leftover gift vouchers and one way or another I would expect to receive the double SCs as per the conditions of the offer.

Firstly, for clarity l was referring to the gift vouchers that everyone purchased in December to get 10 points per dollar. Those vouchers did create a PNR at the time of purchase. So it was my stupidity for using it and not realising it would show up with a december purchase data to the system.

Now after so discussion the call center person did agree it was a new booking in practical terms because no actually flights were booked in December. They have also made a manual award of the extra SC, but it was doubly stupid to use the voucher and then expect auto double SC.

In terms of using left over vouchers I would guess you are talking about the paper vouchers that wants send out. The gift vouchers purchased online can only be used one at a time.

Sent from the Throne

not sure if this is relevant. I redeemed my december voucher on a flight to HKG. Qantas ran a double SC for flights to HK after i bought my ticket but I activated the offer anyway. received bonus SC today.

You will find the original booking was made in December and will not qualify for the double SC's.=
And you will be kind enough to show me where it says that "new" bookings using a gift voucher purchased in December 2011 do not qualify for this promotion?

The Amadeus reference number is irrelevant as it does not appear on "my bookings" until I actually make a booking.

No. I am talking about the gift vouchers "purchased" in December and not yet used. I have a few of these left over and I have made new bookings with them....

I suggest you review your profile communications preferences unless you like waiting for such promotions.
