Qantas double SCs

I have decided to leave the ticket as is and just do a 24 hour dash (in whY) , no big boost to SC's but what the heck.

I don't believe so. It would be the ticketed date. PNR's can be created without a ticket being issued (that's how TA's do it, remember :P).
It seems from quite a few anecdotes that a ticketed date is irrelevant for this promotion.

The IT processing appears to rely upon the date the PNR is generated, ticked or not. Hint - refer to issues regarding "Gift Vouchers".

I flew SYD-BNE-SYD over the weekend and have recieved my double status credits already, I was actually surprised how quickly they hit my account. I hit Silver, and now plan a super run for Gold. I need 390 points but with the double offer should be able to do this. Happy Flying!

Totally sucked in...

From my experience it is correct that the creation of the PNR is what is being used to determine eligiblity.

I had an existing PNR before the promotion, and was deciding which airline to fly with.

After getting the offer, I asked my TA to cancel my booking and create a new one so that I could get the credits.

He cancelled the holds and re-entered them on same record locator-- which then made them ineligible for the promotion.

After explaining the situation to QANTAS, they have recognized that I tried to create a new booking and have sorted out the issue-- but for those booking under these promos be extra careful!

Simongr -

I saw your post and was concerned that I'd be in the same exact situation (as my double SC's had not posted a couple of weeks after travel) - what I learned from your post helped me to get my situation resolved, so thank you!

Now I'll know to be extra careful next time (fingers crossed) one of these deals comes up!

I flew on a YASA ticket BNE-SYD-PVG-SYD-BNE last week and based on their previous response rates I would have thought that the bonus SC's would have credited by now.

Has anyone experienced a delay in crediting post the 30 June cutoff for Domestic but not international travel?

Under the original Double SC offer, it was only for international travel in August, it didn't include July.

Thanks SeatBackForward. I also just read the T&C's and noticed that just as you posted. Why would they exclude July?

I book all of my QF flights using gift vouchers and had purchased quite a few for use during the points offer last year. Now it seems that to collect my double SCs I have to work out which flights I booked in the relevant time frame and which I had booked previously?

What an absolute nuisance.

Fortunately they aren't required for status but will be handy for life time status.

If I booked a J in August BNE-AKL. Before June 30, then changed the dates ( still flying in August) making that change wouldn't stuff my double status credit offer would it?

I've just fallen into this exact situation. I booked a new international J-class trip (so new PNR) in May for travel in August. Today, I changed just my return date by 1 day (still in August). All went OK. But I received a completely new ticket number for all flights. And a new ticket issue date - today's. The PNR stayed the same.

I hope so!

Didn't the double SC's promotion end 30th June 2012?
SWMBO received an email offer last month - she has 0 SC's from 0 QF flights (eligible or not) and 0 further bookings on QF since qualifying SG in her own right last year.

I'm in a very similar situation. Initially booked an international Y+ trip for the Mrs and I, but now I need to fly a few days earlier so I had to alter my ticket by splitting the original booking and changing my flight dates. This means a "new" ticket with a different booking reference. When I questioned the QF call centre they assured me I would still receive my double SC as I made the original booking in May.

Anyone else done this and got their double SC or worse not got them?

For some yes, but QF run multiple promos all year round that often include double SCs for those approaching an anniversary date!
Anyone suggest any way of me optimising the chances of getting a double SC offer, as my anniversary is soon approaching?

The stated aim (as per a voicemail from a QF FF staffer) is to encourage new bookings.
