Qantas double SCs

I'm devastated - got the mail, but 10 days ago already booked MEL - LHR - FRA - SIN - MEL

Yeah, it happens. I got a promo last year just after l had booked a bunch of flights. At least with Virgin's double SC promo, they included flights booked before announcement...

Just wondering if there is any way in getting a JASA that was booked before the offer to credit as double?

I'm wondering that for just normal tickets too. Like i said, be interested to know what would be a good run.

They should be fully refundable.

Cancel it completely, get the points (and cash if applicable) refunded.

One done, rebook :)

Hmm - hadn't thought of cancelling and rebooking - might do that with my flexisavers coming up. Myabe an extra 200Scs...

I'm not sure all JASA's are fully refundable. The poster needs to check the terms and conditions.

Got it too :p

Fortunately haven't booked May/June travel and this will supplement my end of year 1/2 DONE4 and get me to WP!

That is not correct.

The Virgin double SC offer that came out on the 27th March stated:

Well, **** on a stick. No email for me.

Didn't get it last year, didn't get the HKG offer, didn't get it now. My QF year started on Sunday too, and I missed a loyalty bonus by 30SCs .... I'm having a good week!

I would love to know the selection criteria (assuming it's not random!), given we have the same QF year and are both WP+PG. Ironically, I'm probably too loyal and haven't given QF a reason to entice me.

Not feeling the love right now.
Red Roo has stated in the past that these things are totally random. This one seems a little less random than before. SWMBO is now on two (Qantas) double SCs promos at the same time.

Sorry if this is a pleb questions, but as the ticket is for next Monday, is there any way to get the same seat? Will the seat become free to book again as soon as the seat is cancelled?

Edit: PS it is a TSV-DRW JASA

A promo l got from VA recently stated that it was relevant for all bookings including any that had been made prior to announcement. Not the current promo.

I got it! Sadly have booked most of my flights during this period. I do have a Mel-Syd JASA that I could potentially cancel and rebook...is this possible or do I lose a heap of money and/or points? Need to go read the fine print...

If you cancel and rebook but keep the old PNR (as with a QF voucher) then it won't count, from past experiences.



This was how the HKG promo worked - sadly they have reverted to type for this promo.

Not less Random enough to give me the offer. :(

Their aim is to get new bookings and deflect some from the opposition, not reward loyalty. This certainly doesn't surprise me. Thinking longer term is not a Qantas feature.

What a day in the loving and careing relationship between me and QF.

Today;
ADL/MEL I was upgraded to J.
The first time I've flown on the new BSI aircraft.
The first ever e-mail of double SC's!

What a day it has been! Now to cancel all those flexi bookings and rebook them. - a bit of a mindless chore, but one worth a boatload of SC's!

Thanks QF
(Trip report coming on the J BSI leg today too)

I got the email, but.........
I booked a business class cairns to syd any seat award yesterday!! Fare conditions state that the fare is fully refundable so I thought that I would simply cancel it and then re book but just now when I went to cancel it tells me that a voucher will be issued, not a refund, is this correct? Perhaps I'll have to call Qantas.
What are the chances of Qantas applying the offer to a booking made yesterday?
