Qantas double SCs

hello

Can you post the email with the link to register ? Do you think they made their choice randomly ?
The link is unique to the person it is targeted to. At the stage it looks random but I'd say there is a method in the madness somewhere!

I've received the email too. I also had the anniversary a few days ago, but I'm only SG. And while I joined a few years ago, the only other common theme is that we both fly on CX a lot - I currently have 2 CX PNRs showing in my booking, over the next couple of months.

My year ends at the end of June and I know I won't make WP1 even with the extra status credits from this promo.

But I do have 2 CX PNRs showing in my bookings right now too. One Australia to Asia in Y, and another intra-Asia in J. My partner has the same CX bookings too and was offered the deal as well (but also won't make WP1).

No joy here. Was hoping I'd get it this year to requal WP, but it looks like I'll be doing it the hard way in Y. I got it last year, and the Hong Kong double SC offer also so I can't complain, but it would have been nice.

ok thank you, i cross my fingers because i have booked a flight to HK for next week from New Caledonia and i will also need to book 2 other flight before june...then Platinum status is for me !!! hehehe

Did any WP1's receive the offer?

Nothing for me. I probably won't make P1 again by my anniversary at the end of Jan, as I expect most of my international flying to be non QF. Although should do enough to make 1200. Hard to predict my travel a week in advance let alone several months.

Double SCs would have helped. But no big deal.

Just wondering... do you have any CX bookings in the recent past or in the future?

Perhaps we should all post whether you have (recent) past and future bookings with CX (or other airlines) that QF can see...

My last CX booking was in November 2010. My QF anniversary date is 28 Feb of each year. Currently sitting on 0 SC but have a bunch of booked QF flights about to come up (starting in the morning) including 2 trips to SYD from VLI and then a Europe trip in May/June

I got the offer in WA......First time for a 2x Status Credit offer!Pain in the but though, just booked a head of Business class travel (self funded) all around Aus and then off to London in J! All been booked for the stated periods.....but from reading the T&C it looks like only new bookings get the 2x SC's which kind of sucks but ah well have to wait till I get back from Europe with Gold then do nothing with it :(Edit: See the other thread regarding this: Would have been nice to include ALL Bookings that are completed/travelled during this period as I assume most business travel is already booked for people etc, wish Qantas would look after it's most loyal customers sometimes, be nice to get some feedback from Red Roo on why previous bookings are included in this offer.
If it's a refundable fare, then cancel, get the full refund and then rebook... Bookings - Fare Types (Domestic rules)For everyone else, watch out... for non-refundable fares, even if you cancel the fare to a credit, the original ticketed date applies when you go to use the credit. The best you could do is use the credit for a ticket later, outside of the Double Status Credits offer period... hmmm.. actually I didn't think of that.. I wonder if it's worth me wearing the $60 cancellation fee for my red eDeals.

^ The offer is only valid for the recipient of this email for new bookings made between 1 April and 30 June 2012, for Domestic travel commenced between 1 April and 30 June 2012 and International travel commenced between 1 April and 30 June 2012 or 1 August and 31 August 2012.

Silly question, but my reading on the terms in the email states that new bookings made from 1 April are covered. So, if one made a booking or multiple bookings yesterday (or even on Monday as I did) and before this email was sent, my reading of the T&C is that those flights are still covered for the 2x offer.

Thoughts?

My year ends in September and I'm due to reach SG in the next week or two. I'm one who never even wins a raffle so was pleasantly surprised to receive the offer. Whilst WP was previously out of the question for me, it's now a possibility. We'll see how it pans out. Thanks QF.

soo... if I read this correctly, I can fly overseas, say, on the 31st of August and fly back Mid September and still both flights will earn double SCs?

Talk about threads on AFF going viral. Is there anyone that did not get it? Should just about keep the vultures happy for a while.

For what it is worth I got the promotion as well but I do not have a spare weekend between now and September where all my flights are already booked. Good to see loyalty rewarded....

Re: Qantas Double Status credits

I understand the dates now - excludes the Olympics period.

I have the email now and have registered. Now to see how many flights I can cancel for full refund rather than credit. Allure flexi savers.

Re: Qantas Double Status credits

Just to add my 2c worth, I got it this afternoon ~ 5.30pm and this may be the reason needed to bring me back to QF for a couple of months. Have almost re-qualed Gold with VA (120 SC's left to get by 30 August with 90 SC's already booked but no double SC's in that lot). Have a lot of planned trips (MEL, SYD, ADL & PER) and some will be JASA's, so now to start revving up my clients and locking in dates. Good for me as my QF year rolled over on 1 March and I haven't flown QF since September 2011.

I also have an unbooked LOTFAP trip (possible WASA or JASA), but would be September and doubt I can bring forward to August, but will give it a try. Oh well, looks like an easy leg up to re-qual Gold, had my timing been better then I'd be going for Plat.

Will register tomorrow and keep a print out of the registration acceptance screen.

Having had a bit of thought on this, $888 SGD gets me SIN-MEL-SYD return for 160SCs with the promotion. Roughly the same costs can get me 240SCs with CX TPE-HKG-SIN in J. So I suppose if I'm only interested in a SC run (rather than required travel), the promotion still wouldn't have meant much for me.

Nothing for me. Won't make WP. And my year ends 31st August.

Not quite as the Olympics finishes on the 12th August, so it's inside the August period. and It doesn't start until the 27th July and July is out too
