Qantas double SCs

Re: Qantas double status credits promotion

Of course you will. Unless you have already flown before the offer they will double the points. Enjoy !!!

Can anyone please answer this definitively please? I booked some Flexi Savers yesterday at 3 pm (flying next week) and then received and registered for the offer at 6 pm. Will I get double SCs on those flights? Thanks.

I believe it was for flights booked from the 1st April.. I don't have the email handy

Re: Qantas double status credits promotion

I need 380 SC's by 31-Dec-12 for Platinum. Yesterday at 3pm I booked a return "V" class fare SYD-PER, then at 5:45pm I got the double SC's email. Glad to receive it but would've been nicer a month ago when i did three weekly returns SYD-PER in J!

Comes at a nice time for me, as the SYD-PER will earn me 160SC's and I definitely will have SYD-BRS-SYD and SYD-MEL-SYD before 30th June, so thats another 160Sc's. And then I'll only have 6 months to earn the remaining 60SC's :) Will be first time Platinum for me.

"register, book and travel from April through June 2012" is the wording. It also says you must register by April 30. I think it'll be fine for any bookings after 1/4/12.

Re: Qantas double status credits promotion

No offer for me, WP with renewal date of 31/10 and hundreds of SC's still needed for retention. guess i'll be earning them the hard way The only double SC offer I've ever received was for international flights, in early 2011. I don't understand why others get the offer and not me, but I don't get upset about it.

According to QF:

An eligible flight for the purposes of this promotion means any flight with a QF flight number on the ticket where Status credits are normally earned. Status credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes including Classic Award flights and Qantas codeshare flights (i.e. with a QF flight number on the ticket) operated by Jetstar or Jetstar Asia other than in Economy booking classes Y, B, H, K, and L (when booked as part of a oneworld fare). Qantas Segments booked in X, U, Z or P classes are eligible to earn Points and Status credits only when booked as part of a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award

So am i right to say:
1) All QF operated flight qualify, all codeshare under QF code qualify as well but only certain class on JQ operated QF code qualify?
2) all revenue class qualify with a QF code but only a handful JQ operated qualify?
3) when booking using ASA only QF operated segment qualifying and the booking classes are strictly under XUZP. -- but how to determine which class you booked when using ASA (on IPad)?

Re: Qantas double status credits promotion

I've no doubt there's a rationale behind who's targeted with this offer, and who's not.
From the posts in this thread I just can't see it

My renewal date is 30th April, and I re-qualified as WP for the next 12 months back in January I think.
So, the new year hasn't started and I've just 4 flights booked (MEL-PER-SYD and SYD-DRW-SYD JASA)

I'll today book a SYD-ADL-SYD JASA if the price is right, plus a couple of other planned domestic whY trips planned for May & June... and I might look at a CBR-HBA express.

Happy, very happy... but puzzled

Somehow I think you need to book after you register

That's my take on it also. Unfortunately on Tuesday I booked and paid for an ADL-SYD-SIN-FRA return flight with QF for May, and received the email last night. I've registered, but I'm currently on 1,640 SC's and my QF year finishes 31 July.

If I do get the double SC's then this will be a nice bonus to take me only 200 SC's away from 2,400 SC's, so if it comes through I might be tempted to try and get there before QF year end.

BTW, I've been flooded with QF offers over the last 6 months or so. I was effected by the QF grounding & got the free flight, as well as double SC offer for HKG flights last year, and recently received another HKG double SC offer as well as this one. Go figure?

Slightly less excited now that I have read the fine print and checked my travel plans. The July blackout dates are most unfair!

Although I am curious as to why I was targetted. I have already requalified for 2012/2013 year as WP. My travel in June/July even without the double SC offer will requalify me WP for 2013/2014! Oh well, at least they thought of me.

Interestingly, I have a JASA to HKG coming up; I briefly toyed with the idea of cancelling and rebooking to get double SC's, but, the price is now x2 going over and x4 coming back! Methinks I got a bargain, even without double SC's

Aah bugger, I didn't notice that.

That makes it significantly less useful for me then :(

The only people who can answer definitively are either:
1. Those who got the email earlier than you, booked and registered (in the same order as you) and have flown the sectors THEN have already got the bonus SC's in their account already.
2. Finding somebody in QFF who has been trained up - but I'd hope that Red Roo might be able to give clarification.

In the normal course of promotions, the order is register, then book and finally fly. However, whether their system actually looks at the timestamp of the order of the first two, or just looks at the date - well, that's anybody guess here

Qantas sent out a promotion email yesterday on earning double status credits on eligible QF flights and for some reasons I didn't get one. I am Gold and I know that a couple of collegues, one is Bronze and one is Plat, both received the email.

Does anyone know whether Qantas only offer this to selected customers only?
Again, nobody here knows how they choose - dartboard, evens & odds, algorithm, lucky dip. We just know that for some, the QF promos are like the police analogy - never there when you need them, always there when you don't.

"We look forward of welcoming you on board again soon."

Have QF outsourced their email-writing to English-as-a-foreign-language speakers now?
The use of prepositions is frustrating with Gen Y (and some Gen X) now in positions of writing copy...anybody with a fair grasp of sentence construction can see "to" should have been used there rather than "of". Fail Qantas, big fail.

Hmm, can't tell if that was done on purpose or not :)

have already achieved WP, and almost 2,000 SCs in 6 mths of membership year, but would have been nice to receive the offer, as upcoming travel would have made requalifying for P1 a bit easier.

Did any P1 members receive the offer?

I'm trying to nut out turning this into another 1200 SC and partner gold. (just so we can legitimately get the kids into the lounge later in the year :p)

Eligible flights are those with a QF flight number - including codeshares to NAN? for example?

Wonder if I can do anything SYD-x-SYD on 24 May. Wondering if that'd be a good idea after getting off QF2.

This is going to be hard since I have all required flights booked until end of June. :(

I didn't get the email this time either. In fact I have never had a double SC email. I get plenty of other emails from QF so my communication profile probably isn't the problem. Perhaps it's because 920 of my 960 SC so far in my year since 1 Dec. have been on BA. Then again my family name starts with a letter that is almost at the end of the alphabet and Mrs SFSC hasn't got one yet either so perhaps they are still to come - oh yeah

So almost 24 hours after this thread has started, which is more than enough time for the emails to be fully sent out and received by all.

No double SC offer, it's a shame as I would have directed quite a few flights from Virgin to Qantas to make my way back up the QF status ranks.......

Would be good if Virgin had a higher level than Platinum
