I got it (in WA) and registered. currently PS with booking in the system to take me to SG in the next few weeks. bummed that the JASA to SYD is not going to count.

I may take advantage of this for a trip to EU, I was looking a going in July but moving a few dates around I may be able to dou the outbound in June and the return in August.

BTW SC year ends September.

How will this work with the JSA with BA on the AUS-SIN-UK routes? IF I fly will I still get the double SC?

Maybe it's only for people who need to requalify

Can't be, I received it and have already re-qualified WP until end May 2013. I have booked travel in June ( prior to the offer being sent) which will extend that to May 2014. Not much use to me but always nice to be thought of :)

Re: Qantas Double Status credits

Hi All,

Pleased that some of you are excited about the new double Status credit promotion. I thought a post was in order to address a few of the comments and questions, so here goes:

Who can register – the promotion is only open for members who were selected and were emailed the offer.

Registration process
– Our system registers when a selected member clicks on the link within the email, even if you are not logged into your QFF profile. No confirmation is required.
If you are concerned or you have deleted your email you can also register at www.qantas.com/bonusapril - this process will provide a confirmation page and email – and will also let you know if you have not been selected for this promotion (if you are not selected, you will not be able to register – sorry).

ASA bookings
– are eligible provided they are within the booking and travel dates of the promotion and you have registered

Bookings prior to registering
– You can register and book in any order, as long as you have registered and booked between 1 April and 30 June 2012 for an eligible flight.

Domestic segments of International flights in August
– Double Status credits will be awarded on a segment basis, so if you travel on an International flight number (QF1 – 399) which incorporates a domestic segment in August (provided the booking, rego and other criteria are met), you will earn double Status credits. All other domestic segments in August will earn at the normal level.
Only travel segments commenced during the promotion period will earn double Status credits. So, if your return trip is outside of the travel dates that will earn at the normal rate.

I hope this helps,

Red Roo

What do you mean by "it will extend to may 2014 " ??

Re: Qantas Double Status credits

Red Roo - Thanks for all the details

For me "Unfortunately you are not eligible to register for this promotion."

So looks like another $7000 spent on Virgin over the next few months

Nothing here, and would not expect to get it either. I think it has been long observed that NZ members don't get access to many promos (apart from when QF pulled up stumps domestically), and similar applies I think with anyone with their registered QFF address outside of Australia.

Thanks for the clarification, Red Roo.
One more pernickety question:
A J booking from LHR to MEL, departing LHR on 30 June, but with a change of flight number out of Singapore, and arriving MEL 1 July. Is the SIN-MEL leg eligible? No stopover. Just a change of a/c.

I didn't get the promotion. I sent off an email to QANTAS expressing where my dollars would now head. Makes it easy to know where to direct the dollars on weekly MEL-BNE flights for the next few months thanks to Virgin's double status points promotion. DJ Platinum here I come.

Re: Qantas Double Status credits

I dont think there is rhyme or reason to selection.I got the email but unfortunately booked my QF flights for June at 1905 on 31/3.
However I really dont care about SCs as most are aware my primary program is Aadvantage.I was doing week about in Tassie in December,January and because virtually all sectors have been in N class I have credited to QFF so maybe they think i am trying to requalify silver this year.
Not happening!
Now mrsdrron who is going for WP again this year and only has 20SCs this qualifying year 4 months in did not get the email.
