Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

I know I've got a SYD return in a couple of weeks, that'll probably be another 40 SC's off my remaining balance. Then have to organise an ADL return and a MEL return before 28 February. Those flights, together with this DSC offer, should give me all I need. Then I won't need to fall back to Silver for a short period before getting LTG.

I'm aiming for LTG as well - then I won't have to worry about this annual chasing SC's malarky any more!
I would miss WP once LTG, but the LTP target is practically unattainable. I’d probably change to considering getting WP if intended travel and a DSC line up perfectly, but maybe once in several years.

I’m still some years away from getting LTG though.

I’ll hit LTG in April after having been at 4,308 lifetime status credits in January 2022. It’s been a combination of understanding the rules and status support, careful planning, spending money saved during COVID by (forcibly) not having holidays to Europe and spending that money on business class flights to Europe after travel resumed and doing a lot of other flying too. As I’m retired there’s no work flying.

I’ll requalify for P1 again this year, which will keep me at that tier until November 2025 and get the VIP service team support to book flights through to the 2026 European summer. But after that I’ll probably just maintain WP for a while.

Apologies if this has been asked/confirmed in another thread; are Emirates flights with a QF flight code not included in the DSC?

I've received standard status credits only, and wasn't sure if its something to chase up.

Thanks in advance

No - not included, sorry. QF marketed and operated only,

That's the bit that is a killer when doing trips to the Muddle East - best to go QF to Singapore then Emirates on a QF flight number from there to Dubai and beyond
Yeah... problem is that the Dubai flights are really the quickest (at least from what I've seen) in terms of time in air as well as spent on the ground. Price is usually better too.

That said, lining up a March trip to Italy; hopefully a DSC offer will land in Feb but won't hold my breath!

I hope that it does for you! Most of my travel is to destinations in the Muddle East and going via Europe on QF back to say Cairo doesn't appeal - way back when Noah was still playing centre half I did MEL-BKK-FCO-CAI all on Alitalia - not recommended!

I guess I'm showing my age as its been a long time since Alitalia flew to Oz! I don't think that anyone has really missed their dreadful inflight service though...

I'm still finding it a bit random, but still pretty quick.

For example the Flight on 24/1 the DSC posted 25/1 but the flights taken on 25/1 didn't post DSC until 28/1 - not sure if public holiday had anything to do with the delay.

My last 3 flights that I took on Thursday under DSC posted on Sunday. My flight on 24/1 posted late last night for DSC.

The Monday flights on the same itinerary posts the next day.

Maybe the script (or person running the script) only works certain days? 😂

I've never been able to get a DSC deal. Haven't been able to commit to a booking during the promotion period.
I've heard there is a way around that, so will have to look into it the next time there is a DSC promo.

Is that book a dummy Flex Longreach to wherever it is and then change the booking to what you want later on?
