Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

Not that hard, just keep your claim clear and succinct:
  • On DD/MM/YY I registered for the Qantas Double Status Credits promotion - see registration email attached
  • On DD/MM/YY (within DSC promo booking window) I booked CNS-BNE-MEL as part of PNR XXYYZZ departing DD/MM/YY - see original eticket attached
  • On 26/08/23 my booking was involuntarily changed by Qantas to a direct CNS-MEL flight - ideally attach a copy of the change email, if you have one
  • I have since flown and received 38 status credits for this direct flight - see boarding pass attached
  • I wish to request an original routing credit of 28 status credits for CNS-BNE and 28 status credits for BNE-MEL for the flights as originally booked
  • I would also like to request an additional 28 + 28 status credits per the terms of the Double Status Credits promotion.
If you lodge this via email with all the docs, wait a week, and then call the FF team and quote the SR number, I would wager money the SC are posted on the spot.

I've done this several times and never had an issue - there's a lot of scaremongering on AFF around ORC/DSC situations, but 99% of agents can handle this if your message is clear and you provide every piece of documentation. If you happen to get a dud agent who wants to argue it, just HUACA.
Can you post a copy of the confirmation email you received? I lost a whole bucnh of my emails and they're saying I don't qualify.

I'm not sure what use this will be, but here is what the email looks like:

Thanks for this. Despite having registered online with Qantas for Double Status and boooking 6 flights during the promo each (has affected both my wife and I). Qantas refuse to credit the DSC withouth proof of the email. Been chasing since July.

Unless anyone else has any other ideas?

HI, my SC MISSING FROM LAST YEAR WERE CREDITED this year about one month ago.

During COVID Era Qantas telephone sales offered me double status credits if I parked my travel as a Credit. Being swayed easily by this offer, however to this day I am fighting for recognition of this offer.

Also had to fight being denied boarding after eventual lifting of government mandates as Qantas wanted only pristine JABBY JABBIES on the aeroplane. Qatar flew me instead. Fought tooth and nail to get my status credits & Points for this flight and waited over a year. But got them eventually last month.

Now I PRAY that Qantas REALISE - double status credits as it promised. It would set me up nicely for reaching Platinum1 status.o_Oo_O

A further question about the DSC crediting. My QF year ends on April 30, and I'm planning a three week trip next year which will actually see me return to Oz on the 30th of April, and the DSC's from that return leg will be needed to get me over the line to renew QFF Gold. If they credit the DSC's from the return leg a few days after 30th of April do they normally keep you as Gold or is it tough luck?

This should be corrected but it wouldn't hurt to prepare for a battle with the call centre. In particular, timely auto-crediting of DSCs from this years' promotion didn't start until late April/May, so it may be that your correction doesn't happen until the middle of May.

Also, I'm assuming that you'd make this booking under a hypothetical future DSC offer - the travel window for this offer was end Feb 2024, I think.

Sorry yes - under a future DSC offer - the sooner they offer one the better!

Also - @exceladdict - love the name - especially as I have been busy creating a spreadsheet showing SC's in different classes & tickets for different legs on a few routes I fly so that I am prepared for a DSC offer :D

Haha I love that! I feel like at an AFF event, there could be a tremendous presentation of everyone comparing and contrasting the different ways they plan. I spent a while recently explaining to a family member how I plan out something similar - when you start working in which ones are eligible for loyalty bonuses etc it adds some joyous complexity :)

LOL!! I haven't reached the point yet where I am throwing loyalty bonuses into the mix, my main aim each year is usually to do enough to retain Gold as that gets me into the lounges in Melbourne, Singapore, Dubai, and on the return leg Cairo when departing (the Cairo lounge is the most welcome sight in the world after four hours getting through security etc at Cairo airport - which will never win an award for the quality of its air-conditioning).

If we get a DSC offer before December then I might be tempted to make an effort for Platinum - but we will see.

There are few airports that come to mind whose Air conditioning in the Middle East would not past muster, and needing better quality like Abu Dabhi International - second biggest in the UAE.

  • Agree

Totally agree - the showers in the Emirates lounge in Cairo are a huge relief in summer!

I had booked a PER-MEL retun flight through Amex travel during the eligible period which I have had to amend the dates.
Amex have amended the dates (super efficiently as always), but the six digit booking number is now different.
I have amended dates of flights booked during a DSC and always been successful, but always through the Qantas website. This is my first time doing it through Amex and the change in booking no being different worries me I may have messed it!
Anyone been through this before?

Everything I've read from others has been that with a new QF PNR, no DSCs. Can't speak from experience as I have avoided it.

Is it the agency (AMEX) booking ref that has changed or the QF one? They are different and both should be shown on your email.

If the QF booking ref is the same that is fine, that is the one that counts.

Cheers skip

Not that it’s much consolation, but when QANTAS canceled a flight forming part of my AMEX travel booked December 2023 status run to NZ (booked during the DSC offer period and flying in the DSC flight window),I sorted out an alternative but emphasized to AMEX that the QANTAS PNR was to stay the same. That happened, but I’m ever-mindful to keep a very close eye on anything that changes.

Appreciated! A closer look and I was comparing the six digit Amex reference to the six digit Qantas PNR.

The PNR remains the same so fingers crossed that its all good.

Thanks

As long as the PNR is the same it should be fine assuming the flights qualify.

Well, I waited patiently for the full 8 weeks to pass by, and nothing ever eventuated... so I began the process of trying to sort out 3 sets of DSCs for up to 3 registered pax across 8 flights. Phone calls to QFF were a lost cause, with quick answer times not able to offset limited abilities or outcomes from multiple attempts. My favourite involved an agent who was clearly working from home, with a rooster crowing and dog barking regularly forcing him to mute the call. I ended up putting everything I needed in writing, together with supporting documentation and a request for manager escalation and e-mailed it to QFF instead.

After 8 more days, I noticed some of the matters were being dealt with, finding manual adjustments were taking place on our accounts, but then it just stopped. I'd also not seen any e-mails about what was going on behind the scenes and whether they needed more detail from me. After another few days of silence, I wrote back saying I could see some updates - and thanked them for that - but there was still more to be dealt with. Much of the remainder was adjusted about a day and a half after that, but I still have a couple of loose ends and no information about them.

All this was painful - at best - but at least mostly sorted out now, and I think I may have even ended up with a little more than I had calculated as missing when I do the maths on the adjustments, which applied primarily to my previous member year. Silver (or perhaps Gold) lining is that it could bring forward my LTG date a little as a result.

Certainly, hoping this was the first and last time I'll need to chase down QF DSC promo benefits!

Cheers,
Matt.

I think I’ve spoken to that agent! I asked if they were working from home and they said “yes and I live on a farm”. Crazy stuff. I’m glad you have progress
